Carbon Cathodes In article number 2300268, Wei Yu, Hirotomo Nishihara, and co-workers proposed an edge-site-free topological-defect-rich graphene mesosponge (GMS) as a carbon cathode for Li-O2 batteries. GMS exhibits high discharge capacity, low charge plateau, enhanced electrochemical stability, which is attributed to the formation of easily decomposable Li2O2 at topological defects on GMS.

PURPOSE Optimal management of children with developmental disorders, such as cerebral palsy (CP), requires detection at an early age. The purpose of this paper is to review the predictive value of various forms of traditional neonatal neurological examination and that of a new form of neuromotor assessment of young infants, based on the assessment of the quality of general movements (GMs). SU...

The quality of general movements (GMs) was assessed repeatedly during the first postnatal months in a mixed group of 52 children at either low or high risk for neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition, all children were reexamined at 4 to 9 years. The follow-up assessment consisted of a neurological examination and an evaluation of behaviour by means of parental questionnaires. The quality of ...

Nine issues of importance to the use of geomembranes (GMs) and geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) as part of composite liners in geoenvironmental applications are examined. These issues include the effect of: GCL-leachate compatibility on hydraulic conductivity; freeze-thaw on GCL performance; internal erosion on GCL hydraulic conductivity; temperature on advection and diffusion as well as desicca...

During the last decade it has become clear that the assessment of the quality of general movements (GMs) in foetus and young infant is a sensitive tool to evaluate the integrity of the young nervous system. GMs are movements in which all parts of the body participate. The hallmark of typical GMs is movement complexity and variation; in abnormal GMs movement complexity and variation is reduced o...

This paper presents a general model of a Group Management Service (GMS) which is designed to support collaborative interactions among groups of distributed users using di erent applications. There are two main bene ts of such a service. Firstly, it would be easier to implement new collaborative applications because of the possibility to use an existing service. Secondly, it would be possible fo...

BACKGROUND As the health services in Ireland have become more resource-constrained, pressure has increased to reduce public spending on community drug schemes such as General Medical Services (GMS) drug prescribing and to understand current and future trends in prescribing. The GMS scheme covers approximately 37% of the Irish population in 2011 and entitles them, inter alia, to free prescriptio...

The effects of temperature on transmission through the voltage-sensitive giant motor synapse (GMS) were investigated in crayfish both experimentally and in computer simulation. The GMS is part of the fast reflex escape pathway of the crayfish and mediates activation from the lateral giant (LG) command neurone to the motor giant (MoG) flexor motoneurone. The investigation was motivated by an app...

BACKGROUND Anti-glycan antibodies can be found in autoimmune diseases. IgM against glycan P63 was identified in clinically isolated syndromes (CIS) and included in gMS-Classifier2, an algorithm designed with the aim of identifying patients at risk of a second demyelinating attack. OBJECTIVE To determine the value of gMS-Classifier2 as an early and independent predictor of conversion to clinic...

The general medical services (GMS) scheme provides care free at the point of use for the 30% most economically deprived section of the population and the elderly. Almost all people of over-70-year olds are eligible for the GMS scheme potentially directing resources away from those most in need. The aim of this study is to analyse the relationship between practice GMS income and deprivation amon...
