The LINER galaxies NGC2911, NGC 3079, NGC3998, and NGC6500 were observed at 5 GHz with the European VLBI Network at a resolution of 5 milliarcsecond and found to possess flat-spectrum, variable, highbrightness temperature (TB > 10 8 K) radio cores. These radio characteristics reinforce the view that these LINERs host central engines associated with active galactic nuclei.

We consider the properties of the warped accretion disc in NGC 4258 which is delineated by maser emission. We use our analytical models to consider whether the disc could be warped by Lense-Thirring precession.
