In this note the fractional analytic index, for a projective elliptic operator associated to an Azumaya bundle, of [4] is related to the equivariant index of [1, 5] for an associated transversally elliptic operator.

We give a simple proof of the cobordism invariance of the index of an elliptic operator. The proof is based on a study of a Witten-type deformation of an extension of the operator to a complete Riemannian manifold. One of the advantages of our approach is that it allows to treat directly general elliptic operator which are not of Dirac type.
In the papers [4]-[7] a method for the data-sparse approximation of the solution operators for elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic PDEs has been developed based on the Dunford-Cauchy representation to the operator-valued functions of interest combined with the hierarchical matrix approximation of the operator resolvents. In the present paper, we discuss how these techniques can be applied to app...
In earlier papers we developed a method for the data-sparse approximation of the solution operators for elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic PDEs based on the Dunford-Cauchy representation to the operator-valued functions of interest combined with the hierarchical matrix approximation of the operator resolvents. In the present paper, we discuss how these techniques can be applied to approximate ...
The Laplace Beltrami operator, known as an elliptic operator for functions defined on surfaces, appears in some applications in sciences and engineerings. In this paper we consider the Laplace Beltrami operator ∆Γ on surfaces Γ defined as graphs of C2 functions on a flat domain Ω ⊂ Rd−1 (d ≥ 2), ∆Γu = f on Γ, u = 0 on ∂Γ. Based on some properties of differential geometry, we transformed the Lap...
Given V a finite set, a self–adjoint operator on C(V ), K, is called elliptic if it is positive semi–definite and its lowest eigenvalue is simple. Therefore, there exists a unique, up to sign, unitary function ω ∈ C(V ) satisfying K(ω) = λω and then K is named (λ, ω)–elliptic. Clearly, a (λ, ω)–elliptic operator is singular iff λ = 0. Examples of elliptic operators are the so–called Schrödinger...
Since the theory of spectral properties of non-self-accession differential operators on Sobolev spaces is an important field in mathematics, therefore, different techniques are used to study them. In this paper, two types of non-self-accession differential operators on Sobolev spaces are considered and their spectral properties are investigated with two different and new techniques.
The main goal of the paper is to generalize the Duistermaat-Guillemin trace formula to the case of transversally elliptic operators on a compact foliated manifold. First, let us recall briefly the setting of the classical formula. Let P be a positive self-adjoint elliptic pseudodifferential operator of order one on a closed manifold M (for example, P = √ ∆, where ∆ is the Laplace-Beltrami opera...
The eigenvalues of the elliptic N-body Ruijsenaars operator are obtained by a dynamical version of the algebraic nested Bethe ansatz method. The result is derived by using the construction given in [1], where the Ruijsenaars operator was obtained as the transfer matrix associated to the symmetric power of the vector representation of the elliptic quantum group Eτ,γ(glN ).
