The algebraic method of renormalization is applied to the standard model of electroweak interactions. We present the most important modifications compared to theories with simple groups. ∗ Presented at the DESY Zeuthen Workshop on Elementary Particle Theory “Loops and Legs in Gauge Theories”, Rheinsberg, Germany, April 19-24, 1998. (1) ALGEBRAIC RENORMALIZATION OF THE ELECTROWEAK STANDARD MODEL
The structure of low-energy supersymmetric models of fundamental particles and interactions is reviewed, with an emphasis on the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) and some of its variants. Various approaches to the supersymmetry-breaking mechanism are considered. The implications for the phenomenology of Higgs bosons and supersymmetric particles at future colliders a...
The interaction of UHE neutrinos can be observed from outer space. The advantage of the proposed method is that the Earth can be used as an energy filter as well as a target. We sketch the potentials of these observations in searching for particle physics beyond the Standard Model of elementary particle interactions as well as observations of astronomical objects such as active galactic nuclei.

Kaons are heavy enough to have an interesting range of decay modes available to them, and light enough to be produced in sufficient numbers to explore rare modes with satisfying statistics. Kaons and their decays have provided at least two major breakthroughs in our knowledge of fundamental physics. They have revealed to us CP violation,l and their lack of flavor-changing neutral interactions w...

A pedagogical introduction is given to attempts to formulate a more fundamental theory of elementary particles than that provided by the standard model. After a review of the basic elements of the standard model, its unsatisfactory features, and ideas to modify them will be discussed. An introduction to Technicolour, t-quark condensates, supersymmetric models, GUT's and a brief comment on compo...
In this article I summarize some aspects of the current status of the field of high energy physics and discuss how the next generation of high energy colliders will aid in furthering our basic understanding of elementary particles and interactions among them, by shedding light on the mechanism for the spontaneous breakdown of the Electroweak Symmetry.
In this talk I briefly explain the concept of the structure function of a photon (the best known boson). Then I review some of the current experimental evidence which confirms the existence of ‘strong’ interactions of photon suggested by this idea. I end by pointing out how the photon ‘structure’ has important implications for the interactions of high energy photons and hence for the design of ...
The discovery of anomalous behavior in data collected at high energy physics experiments could provide non-SUSY and non-Higgs explanations to questions associated with the Standard Model and provide deeper understanding to the fundamental particles and interactions in nature. Such questions include whether quarks and leptons are composite particles, the existence of extra dimensions, and the an...
