A common print quality problem in electrophotographic (EP) printing is ghosting. Ghosting refers to a vestigial image repeated at regular intervals down the length of a page and appearing as light or dark areas (negative or positive ghosting, respectively) relative to the surrounding field. There are many sources of ghosting, including most EP printer subsystems and many of their components. Su...

Particle-based electrophotography is the premier digital printing method today. From the quality standpoint its competitiveness has suffered from print unevenness. The study addresses the issue to what extent improvements can be achieved by adjustment of variables in the fusing stage.

The title compound, C(19)H(34)N(+)·C(10)H(7)O(4)S(-), is a charge-control agent used for toners in electrophotography. The anions form one-dimensional chains by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds in a zigzag fashion along the c axis between the OH group of one anion and the sulfonate O atom of a neighboring anion. One of the n-butyl chains of the cation is disordered over two sites in a 0.77:0.23 ratio.

The basic deinking process for old newspapers, the role of the deinking agent, the science and the condition for good deinking are reviewed based on the results in our laboratory first. Then, by using this typical deinking process, the deinkability of the pigment―based inkjet printings was examined. In commercial printings, the transition to on―demand printings is in progress, because the on―de...

Electrophotography is a very useful tool for x-ray diagnosis of the soft tissue and the bone due to the edge effect having wide latitude and high contrast. However, in usual electroradiography, larger exposure doses are necessary compared to silver haloid method owing to the low sensitivtity to x-rays. Very sensitive electroradiography is developed as K.I.P. method, using special photoconductiv...

The title compound, C(19)H(34)N(+)·C(10)H(7)O(4)S(-), is a charge-control agent for toners used in electrophotography. Inter-moleclar O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the OH group of one anion and the sulfonate O atom of a neighboring anion leads to the formation of one-dimensional chains along the b axis. In addition, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed. One of the n-butyl chains of the cation is ...
