We present a group theoretic construction of the Virasoro algebra in the framework of wreath products. This can be regarded as a counterpart of a geometric construction of Lehn in the theory of Hilbert schemes of points on a surface. Introduction It is by now well known that a direct sum ⊕ n≥0R(Sn) of the Grothendieck rings of symmetric groups Sn can be identified with the Fock space of the Hei...

What follows is propaganda for the study of a particular commutative Banach algebra, A one not inappropriate to a conference which emphasises automatic continuity. In fact A is that subalgebra of the measure algebra, .i\J(T), of all regular bounded Borel measures on the circle under the total variation norm and convolution multiplication, which is characterised by the automatic continuity of me...

In this paper, we study $L^p$-conjecture on locally compact hypergroups and by some technical proofs we give some sufficient and necessary conditions  for a weighted Lebesgue space  $L^p(K,w)$ to be a convolution Banach algebra, where $1<p<infty$, $K$ is a locally compact hypergroup and $w$ is a weight function on $K$.  Among the other things, we also show that if $K$ is a locally compact hyper...

Given a ternary relation C on a set U and an algebra A, we present a construction of a convolution algebra A(U,C) of U = (U,C) over A. This generalises bothmatrix algebras and algebras obtained from convolution of monoids. To any class of algebras corresponds a class of convolution structures. Our study cases are the classes of commutative, associative, Lie, and Jordan algebras. In each of thes...

We define a Fourier transform and a convolution product for functions and distributions on Heisenberg–Clifford Lie supergroups. The Fourier transform exchanges the convolution and a pointwise product, and is an intertwining operator for the left regular representation. We generalize various classical theorems, including the Paley–Wiener–Schwartz theorem, and define a convolution Banach algebra.

Let T (X) be the tensor bialgebra over an alphabet X. It is a graded connected cocommutative bialgebra, canonically isomorphic to the envelopping bialgebra of the free Lie algebra over X, Lie(X). The subalgebra of its convolution algebra generated by the projections arising from the graduation is also an algebra for the composition of morphisms and is anti-isomorphic as such with the direct sum...

Let the measure algebra of a topological group G be equipped with the topology of uniform convergence on bounded right uniformly equicontinuous sets of functions. Convolution is separately continuous on the measure algebra, and it is jointly continuous if and only if G has the SIN property. On the space LUC(G)∗ which includes the measure algebra, convolution is also jointly continuous if and on...

We define new symbol classes for pseudodifferential operators and investigate their pseudodifferential calculus. The symbol classes are parametrized by commutative convolution algebras. To every solid convolution algebraA over a lattice Λ we associate a symbol class M. Then every operator with a symbol in M is almost diagonal with respect to special wave packets (coherent states or Gabor frames...
