Phase relations in the system Ca–Ti–O have been established by equilibration of several samples at 1200 K for prolonged periods and identification of phases in quenched samples by optical and scanning electron microscopy, XRD and EDS. Samples representing 20 compositions in the ternary system were analyzed. There was negligible solid solubility of Ca in the phases along the binary Ti–O, and of ...

The synergistic promotion by photocatalysis and thermocatalysis is a promising approach for sustainable hydrogen (H2) production. Herein, we rationally design perovskite-based catalyst with three-dimensionally ordered macroporous structure (3DOM CaTiO3-Au) photothermal catalytic H2 production from different substrates. hierarchical 3DOM facilitates light harvesting mass diffusion of the substra...

Resonant piezoelectric spectroscopy shows polar resonances in paraelectric SrTiO3 at temperatures below 80 K. These resonances become strong at T<40  K. The resonances are induced by weak electric fields and lead to standing mechanical waves in the sample. This piezoelectric response does not exist in paraelastic SrTiO3 nor at temperatures just below the ferroelastic phase transition. The inter...

Low-melting H3BO3, acting as sintering aid, was used to reduce the sintering temperature of 5 wt.% CaTiO3-doped (Zn0.65Mg0.35)TiO3 ceramics. The sintering behaviors, microstructures and microwave dielectric properties with different amounts of H3BO3 addition were investigated. The results showed that H3BO3 additive was very effective for lowering the sintering temperature and improving the bulk...

We carry out first-principles calculations of the nonlinear dielectric response of short-period ferroelectric superlattices. We compute and store not only the total polarization, but also the Wannier-based polarizations of individual atomic layers, as a function of the electric displacement field, and use this information to construct a model capable of predicting the nonlinear dielectric respo...

Domain boundary engineering endeavors to develop materials that contain localized functionalities inside domain walls, which do not exist in the bulk. Here we review multiferroic devices that are based on ferroelectricity inside ferroelastic domain boundaries. The discovery of polarity in CaTiO3 and SrTiO3 leads to new directions to produce complex domain patterns as templates for ferroic devices.

This research is devoted to studying the radiation-protecting characteristics of calcium titanate (CaTiO3) perovskite-based ceramic material. The ceramics were made by solid-state reaction method (SSRM) and treated at temperatures 1300 °C, 1200 1100 °C. structural analyzed XRD FT-IR. results indicated a CaTiO3 phase formation with an orthorhombic structure. size crystallites was in range 27–36 ...

Luminescence thermometry exploiting luminescence kinetics as a thermometric parameter is regarded one of the most reliable temperature readout techniques. Transition metal ions are particular interest in this application which due to possibility modulating their spectroscopic properties by changing strength crystal field matrix. In work, we present strategy modulate parameters including relativ...

Advances in manufacturing emphasize on the development of sustainable and green processes. Welding is a popular process practiced worldwide. The paper presented here describes new covered electrode for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) wherein nano-sized calcium titanate (CaTiO3) powder was used as an stabilizer, replacing conventional micro sized CaTiO3 flux. effect this flux modification mass...

Using an extension of a first-principles method developed by King-Smith and Vanderbilt Phys. Rev. B, 49, 5828 1994 , we investigate the effects of in-plane epitaxial strain on the ground-state structure and polarization of eight perovskite oxides: BaTiO3, SrTiO3, CaTiO3, KNbO3, NaNbO3, PbTiO3, PbZrO3, and BaZrO3. In addition, we investigate the effects of a nonzero normal stress. The results ar...
