We define the (w∗-) boundedness property and the (w∗-) surjectivity property for sets in normed spaces. We show that these properties are pairwise equivalent in complete normed spaces by characterizing them in terms of a category-like property called (w∗-) thickness. We give examples of interesting sets having or not having these properties. In particular, we prove that the tensor product of tw...
The main purpose of this paper is to prove some results of uniform boundedness principle type without the use of Baire’s category theorem in certain topological vector spaces; this provides an alternate route and important technique to establish certain basic results of functional analysis. As applications, among other results, versions of the Banach-Steinhaus theorem and the Nikodym boundednes...
The Lax-Richtmyer theorem is extended to work in the framework of Stetter's theory of discretizations. The new result applies to both initial and boundary value problems discretized by finite elements, finite differences, etc. Several examples are given, together with a comparison with other available equivalence theorems. The proof relies on a generalized Banach-Steinhaus theorem.
In the present paper, we first introduce different types of fuzzy continuity for mappings between F-normed linear spaces and relations them are investigated. Secondly, principles functional analysis established in context F-spaces. More precisely, based on fact that topological equivalent, obtain closed graph theorem open mapping theorem. Using Zabreiko’s lemma, prove uniform bounded principle ...
This paper deals, constructively, with two theorems on the sequential continuity of linear mappings. The classical proofs of these theorems use the boundedness of the linear mappings, which is a constructively stronger property than sequential continuity; and constructively inadmissable versions of the Banach-Steinhaus theorem.
• Banach-Alaoglu: compactness of polars • Variant Banach-Steinhaus/uniform boundedness • Second polars • Weak boundedness implies boundedness • Weak-to-strong differentiability The comparison of weak and strong differentiability is due to Grothendieck, although the original sources are not widely available.
