The applicability of water-based reflux and room temperature synthesis processes for the production of CPO-27 MOFs, suitable for NO delivery applications, is investigated. NO adsorption, storage and release performance of products obtained under reflux conditions are comparable to those of equivalent samples synthesised from traditional solvothermal methods at small scale. Products obtained fro...

one of the cooling systems that has received considerable attentions in recent years is the adsorption chiller, which works based on the adsorption and desorption of a working fluid in a solid porous bed. different parameters such as fin height directly affect the bed heat and mass transfer processes, and therefore, the performance of the adsorption chillers. in the present study a numerical mo...

Surfaces of adsorption-based gas sensors are often heterogeneous, with adsorption sites that differ in their affinities for particle binding. Knowing adsorption/desorption energies, surface densities and the relative abundance different types is important, because these parameters impact sensor sensitivity selectivity, relevant revealing response-generating mechanisms. We show analysis noise ca...

In order to investigate the economic performance of business processes, simulations are performed. These simulations determine values of key performance indicators (KPIs ). We sought a valid solution to integrate KPIs in our Process Analysis Studio (PAS). Our investigation aims for a concept which describes a valid approach to deal with KPIs in multiple business process models. In this paper, w...

Although metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have widely demonstrated their convenient performances as drug-delivery systems, there is still work to do to fully understand the drug incorporation/delivery processes from these materials. In this work, a combined experimental and computational investigation of the main structural and physicochemical parameters driving drug adsorption/desorption kineti...

Exfoliated graphite nanoplatelets (xGnP), which combine the layered structure and low price of nanoclays with the superior mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties of carbon nanotubes, are very cost-effective, and can simultaneously provide a multitude of physical and chemical property enhancements. In this study, we evaluated xGnP's adsorption performance of volatile organic compounds (V...

Explosives in soils can present environmental problems for military installations. Fine, mobile particles represent the most reactive fraction of the soil and, therefore, are expected to adsorb explosives and potentially facilitate their transport. The objective of this study was to determine the relative significance of phyllosilicate clay, organic matter, and two forms of extractable iron in ...

A comparison is made of gastric loss of phenol red and chromic chloride other than by emptying. Chromic chloride appears to be lost by adsorption on to mucus to a considerably greater extent than does phenol red, suggesting that chromic chloride is less satisfactory as a nonabsorbable gastric indicator.

Rhodamine B (RhB) is a water-soluble fluorescent dye that is often used to determine flux and flow direction in biotechnological and environmental applications. In the current research, RhB in soluble (termed free) and virus-bound (termed nano-bound) forms was used as an efficiency indicator for three environmental processes. The degradation of free and nano-bound RhB by (i) direct UV photolysi...
