We demonstrate a high-power cladding-pumped Er-Yb codoped fiber laser with 74% efficiency. A pump-limited output power of 264 W is obtained using in-band pumping at 1535 nm. We compare the efficiency of 1480 and 1535 nm pumping through numerical simulations and experimental measurements.

A new method for the determination of the spin-1/2-3/2-mixing angle and the range parameter of the quarkmodel wavefunction of the resonance S− 11 (1535) is presented. The method ist based on a quantitative calculation of the total cross section of pp → ppη at threshold. The quantitative on-shell treatment of ISI and FSI is discussed.
