We hypothesized that treatment of pregnant rat dams with a dual reactive monoclonal antibody (mAb4G9) against (+)-methamphetamine [METH; equilibrium dissociation rate constant (KD) = 16 nM] and (+)-amphetamine (AMP; KD = 102 nM) could confer maternal and fetal protection from brain accumulation of both drugs of abuse. To test this hypothesis, pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (on gestational day 21)...

OBJECTIVES To assess the compliance of Asian intensive care units and hospitals to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign's resuscitation and management bundles. Secondary objectives were to evaluate the impact of compliance on mortality and the organisational characteristics of hospitals that were associated with higher compliance. DESIGN Prospective cohort study. SETTING 150 intensive care units i...

Manufacturing features and their interactions have become areas of research scrutiny in recent years. It is widely accepted that intelligent reasoning about interactions among features is a critical element in the development of systems for automated manufacturing. Conversely, however, there has not emerged any general consensus as to what features are, how they are de ned, and what it means wh...

The application of our glueball-qq̄ filter to the centrally produced KK̄π system shows that the f1(1285) and f1(1420) have the same behaviour; namely consistent with the f1(1420) being the partner to the f1(1285) in the P1 nonet of axial mesons. We determine a flavour singlet-octet mixing angle of ∼ 50 for this nonet and highlight that the existence of the supposed f1(1510) needs confirmation. e-...

The vertex $VV f_{1}$ coupling is derived from an effective Lagrangian. $g_{\rho \rho f_1}$ constant extracted decay rate of $f_{1}(1285) \ga...

The implications of the f1(1285) − f1(1420) mixing for the K1(3P1) − K1(1P1) mixing angle is investigated. Based on the f1(1285)− f1(1420) mixing angle ∼ 50 suggested from the analysis for a substantial body of data concerning the f1(1420) and f1(1285), the masses of the K1( 3P1) and K1( 1P1) are determined to be ∼ 1307.35± 0.63 MeV and 1370.03± 9.69 MeV, respectively, which therefore suggests ...

The generation by combustion processes of airborne species of current health concern such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and soot particles necessitates a detailed understanding of chemical reaction pathways responsible for their formation. The present review discusses a general scheme of PAH formation and sequential growth of PAH by reactions with stable and radical species, includi...
