The present study deals with the isolation and characterization of protease producing Aeromonas hydrophila from diseased catfish. To isolate Aeromonas hydrophila from diseased catfish, Confirmation using biochemical tests. The effect of pH, temperature on the growth of Aeromonas hydrophila was conducted and checked the cytotoxicity of the enzyme protease responsible for pathogenicity in fishes....

Aeromonas hydrophila, an anaerobic gram-negative bacillus, can cause severe infections in immune-compromised patients. We present a 45-year-old cirrhotic man who suffered from hematemesis and received emergency endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EIS) for gastric variceal bleeding. Twenty-one hours after EIS, painful swelling of the bilateral lower extremities and fever occurred. Severe soft-ti...

Aeromonas hydrophila is the main reason of epidemic septicaemia for freshwater fish. In the present study, the effect of Aeromonas hydrophila infection on the non-specific immunity of blunt snout bream (Megalobrama amblycephala) was studied. After Aeromonas hydrophila challenge, lysozyme activity was significantly increased at 4 h, 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, 14 d and 21 d. An increased level of lysozyme ac...

We present the genome of a clinical isolate, Aeromonas hydrophila SNUFPC-A8, from a moribund cherry salmon. The completed draft genome of this strain shows high sequence homology to the reference strain A. hydrophila ATCC 7966 (NC008570.1) and known plasmids pAsa2 and pAAk1 from other Aeromonas species (NC004925.1 and NC019014.1).

Important biochemical reactions in conventional tests were compared with counterpart reactions in two multiple test systems, API-20E (Analytab Products, Plainview, N.Y.) and Aeromonas hydrophila medium, to evaluate their accuracy for the identification of motile Aeromonas spp. isolated from fish. In a total of 49 Aeromonas spp. isolates and 10 A. hydrophila reference strains, false-negative or ...

Aeromonas hydrophila is an emerging pathogen of aquatic and terrestrial animals, including humans. Here, we report the whole-genome sequence of the septicemic A. hydrophila AH-1 strain, belonging to the serotype O11, and the first mesophilic Aeromonas with surface layer (S-layer) to be sequenced.

Aeromonas hydrophila is a quorum-sensing (QS) bacterium that causes diarrhea in humans upon infection. Here, we report the genome of pathogenic Aeromonas hydrophila strain 187, which possesses a QS gene responsible for signaling molecule N-acyl homoserine lactone (AHL) synthesis and has been found to be located at contig 36.

Aeromonas hydrophila is a well-known waterborne pathogen that recently was found to infect humans. Here, we report the draft genome of a freshwater isolate from a Malaysian waterfall, A. hydrophila strain M023, which portrays N-acylhomoserine lactone-dependent quorum sensing.

Aeromonas hydrophila is a low-virulence gram-negative bacillus. It has never been reported as a pathogen of non-traumatic acute osteomyelitis in a cirrhotic patient. Herein, we reported on a case of decompensated liver cirrhosis with Aeromonas hydrophila infection presenting as acute gastroenteritis and non-traumatic acute osteomyelitis. It has been shown that Aeromonas bacteremia usually affec...
