We introduce a shell model of turbulence featuring intermittent behaviour with anomalous power-law scaling structure functions. This is solved analytically the explicit derivation exponents. The solution associates intermittency hidden symmetry for Kolmogorov multipliers, making our approach relevant real turbulence.

Turbulence is the most common state of astrophysical flows. In typical astrophysical fluids, turbulence is accompanied by strong magnetic fields, which has a large impact on the dynamics of the turbulent cascade. Recently, there has been a significant breakthrough on the theory of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence. For the first time we have a scaling model that is supported by both observat...

In this paper, the effect of atmospheric turbulence on bit error probability in free-space optical CDMA scheme with Sequence Inverse Keyed (SIK) optical correlator receiver is analyzed. Here Intensity Modulation scheme is considered for transmission. The turbulence induced fading is described by the newly introduced gamma-gamma pdf[1] as a tractable mathematical model for atmospheric turbulence...

Turbulence modeling for the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations includes many assumptions and simplifying closures. Numerous models have been developed over the years, and all are deficient in one way or another. Many collective efforts have attempted to validate turbulence models for a wide range of problems, but conclusions have often been muddied due to the lack of grid converge...

The deposition of energy into the solar wind beyond 1 AU is thought to result from the dissipation of low frequency magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence via kinetic processes at spatial scales comparable to the ion gyroradius. Beyond 1 AU, solar wind turbulence is comprised of both a decaying component generated in the corona and turbulence generated dynamically in situ by processes such as str...

The nature and origin of turbulence and magnetic fields in the intergalactic space are important problems that are yet to be understood. We propose a scenario in which turbulent-flow motions are induced via the cascade of the vorticity generated at cosmological shocks during the formation of the large-scale structure. The turbulence in turn amplifies weak seed magnetic fields of any origin. Sup...

The excitation of stable eigenmodes in unstable plasma turbulence, previously documented in collisionless trapped electron mode turbulence, is shown to be a generic behavior of local quasihomogeneous systems. A condition is derived to indicate when such excited eigenmodes achieve a sufficient level in saturation to affect the turbulence, and produce changes in saturation levels, instability dri...

With the growth in world population, the density of crowds in public places has been increasing steadily, leading to a higher incidence of crowd disasters at high densities. Recent research suggests that emergent chaotic behavior at high densities-known collectively as crowd turbulence-is to blame. Thus, a deeper understanding of crowd turbulence is needed to facilitate efforts to prevent and p...
