In the following we want to apply digital restoration (inpainting) methods to these frescoes. Thereby the main challenge is to capture the structures in the preserved parts of the fresco and transport them into the damaged parts continuously. Due to their great age and almost 600 years of living by owners and tenants in the apartment, saturation, hue and contrast quality of the colors in the fr...

-Inpainting is the process of reconstructing lost or deteriorated part of images based on the background information. i. e .it fills the missing or damaged region in an image utilizing spatial information of its neighboring region. Inpainting algorithm have numerous applications. It is helpfully used for restoration of old films and object removal in digital photographs. The main goal of the al...

Inpainting is a method for repairing damaged images or to remove unwanted parts of an image. While this process has been performed by professional artists in the past, today, the use of this technology is emerging in the medical area – especially in the medical imaging realm. In this study, the proposed inpainting method uses a radial basis function (RBF) interpolation technique. We first expla...

In the modern world of digitalization peoples are trying to preserve their memories event in the format of pictures. But fact is that as time passes this image may get corrupted. Images are damages due to cracks, noise and it may possible that some unwanted person also came in image. So recovery of this corrupted image becomes the necessary for preserving this image. Inpainting is art of modify...

While current matting algorithms work very well for some natural images, their performance is questionable in the presence of sharp discontinuities in the foreground and background regions. To counter the above problem, we propose to use variational PDE based inpainting techniques within the matting problem, that are largely successful in inpainting geometric features into unknown regions.

This paper gives a new inpainting model based on curve and horizontal line evolution. By connecting the level lines that reach the edges and let the connected lines have minimum curvature, the model can finish the task successfully. What’s more, the algorithm has no request on the topology of the inpainting area and can deal with all areas simultaneously.

In this article, we consider the following inpainting problem arising in image restoration: part of an image has been removed, and we want to restore the image from the remaining, possibly noisy, portion. We show that if the true image contains no sharp edges, the inpainting can be done rather satisfactorily by means of an isotropic smoothness prior assumption. If, on the other hand, we have in...

A fully automatic algorithm for substitution of missing visual information is presented. The missing parts of a picture may have been caused by damages to or transmission loss of the physical picture. In the former case, the picture is scanned and the damage is considered as holes in the picture while, in the latter case, the lost areas are identified. The task is to derive subjectively matchin...

Data hiding is mainly used to hide the secret data into a cover data like a video file, an audio file, an image, etc. It is popularly used in medical and military applications. Nowadays reversible data hiding is the latest research area in the field of secret data hiding techniques. This paper covers many hiding and compression techniques like vector quantization (VQ), side match vector quantiz...

AbstractThe hardware challenges associated with light-field (LF) imaging has made it difficult for consumers to access its benefits like applications in post-capture focus and aperture control. Learning-based techniques which solve the ill-posed problem of LF reconstruction from sparse (1, 2 or 4) views have significantly reduced need complex hardware. video poses a special challenge as acquiri...
