An enantioselective dearomatization of isoquinolines has been developed using chiral anion-binding catalysis. This transformation, catalyzed by a simple and easy to prepare tert-leucine-based thiourea derivative, makes use of silyl phosphite as a nucleophile and generates cyclic α-aminophosphonates. This is the first time asymmetric anion-binding catalysis has been applied to the synthesis of α...

A novel solid-phase phosphoramidite based oligodeoxynucleotide two-step synthesis method has been developed. Keys to this method are replacement of the 5'-dimethoxytrityl blocking group with an aryloxycarbonyl and the use of N-dimethoxytrityl protection for the exocyclic amines of adenine and cytosine. With these modifications, coupling of each 2'-deoxynucleoside 3'-phosphoramidite to the growi...

The phosphite assimilating bacterium, P. glucosidilyticus DD6b, was isolated from the gut of the zooplankton Daphnia magna. Its 3,872,381 bp high-quality draft genome is arranged into 93 contigs containing 3311 predicted protein-coding and 41 RNA-encoding genes. This genome report presents the specific properties and common features of P. glucosidilyticus DD6b genome in comparison with the geno...

Dielectric relaxation measurements on supercooled triphenyl phosphite show that time-temperature superposition (TTS) is obeyed for the primary relaxation process at low temperatures. Measurements on other molecular liquids close to the calorimetric glass transition indicate that TTS is linked to an omega(-1/2) high-frequency decay of the loss, while the loss peak width is nonuniversal.

The title compound, [Pd(2)Cl(4)(C(8)H(11)O(2)P)(2)], is binuclear and disposed about a crystallographic centre of symmetry with a Pd⋯Pd distance of 3.4662 (17) Å. It has a similar geometry to that observed in the triphenyl-phosphite and triphenyl-phosphine analogues. The Pd-P bond length is ca 0.04 Å shorter than those in mononuclear PdCl(2)(P(OMe)(2)Ph)(2), possibly due to the lower trans-infl...

A concise (5 to 6 steps), stereodivergent, highly diastereoselective (dr up to >19:1 for both stereoisomers) and scalable synthesis (up to 14 g) of cis- and trans-2-substituted 3-piperidinols, a core motif in numerous bioactive compounds, is presented. This sequence allowed an efficient synthesis of the NK-1 inhibitor L-733,060 in 8 steps. Additionally, a cyclodehydration-realizing simple triet...

Malacinski, George (Indiana University, Bloomington), and Walter A. Konetzka. Bacterial oxidation of orthophosphite. J. Bacteriol. 91:578-582. 1966.-A variety of bacteria grown on a glucose and salts medium were capable of utilizing orthophosphite as a sole source of phosphorus. Two organisms, Pseudomonas fluorescens 195 and Serratia marcescens 24, were studied in detail. Growth rates and total...

In contrast to protein O-phosphorylation, studying the function of the less frequent N- and S-phosphorylation events have lagged behind because they have chemical features that prevent their manipulation through standard synthetic and analytical methods. Here we report on the development of a chemoselective synthetic method to phosphorylate Cys side-chains in unprotected peptides. This approach...
