Stability of the solutions to 3D inverse scattering problems with fixed-energy data. Abstract A review of the author's results is given. Inversion formulas and stability results for the solutions to 3D inverse scattering problems with fixed energy data are obtained. Inversion of exact and noisy data is considered. The inverse potential scattering problem with fixed-energy scattering data is dis...

In this work we extend results from the literature on H∞ design with pole placement constraints to the case of generalized state space models, for both continuous-time and discrete-time systems. We also propose tests using linear matrix inequalities of reduced dimension. © 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

We discuss techniques for obtaining a numerically stable evaluation of the fully differential cross section for the virtual photon correction to single hard photon bremsstrahlung in two different computational schemes. We also compare the role of finite mass corrections in these schemes.

The Urey organic and oxidant detector consists of a suite of instruments designed to search for several classes of organic molecules in the martian regolith and ascertain whether these compounds were produced by biotic or abiotic processes using chirality measurements. These experiments will also determine the chemical stability of organic molecules within the host regolith based on the presenc...

Development of chemically stable proton conductors for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) will solve several issues, including cost associated with expensive inter-connectors, and long-term durability. Best known Y-doped BaCeO3 (YBC) proton conductors-based SOFCs suffer from chemical stability under SOFC by-products including CO2 and H2O. Here, for the first time, we report novel perovskite-type Ba...

The successful development of Li-O2 battery technology depends on resolving the issue of cathode corrosion by the discharge product (Li2O2) and/or by the intermediates (LiO2) generated during cell cycling. As an important step toward this goal, we report for the first time the nanoporous Ni with a nanoengineered AuNi alloy surface directly attached to Ni foam as a new all-metal cathode system. ...

We are publishing volume 10 of Entropy. When I was a chemistry student I was facinated by thermodynamic problems, particularly the Gibbs paradox. It has now been more than 10 years since I actively published on this topic [1-4]. During this decade, the globalized Information Society has been developing very quickly based on the Internet and the term “information” is widely used, but what is inf...

Competition in the Þnancial sector is more complex than in the rest of the economy. On the one hand, concentration in the banking industry reduces (static) efficiency as it does in any industry. On the other hand, concentration may also affect the stability of the banking industry in ways that have no counterpart in other industries. In this paper we consider a variety of models of competition ...

We provide a formula describing the G-module structure of the Hurwitz-Hodge bundle for admissible G-covers in terms of the Hodge bundle of the base curve, and more generally, for describing the G-module structure of the push-forward to the base of any sheaf on a family of admissible G-covers. This formula can be interpreted as a representation-ringvalued relative Riemann-Hurwitz formula for fam...

We prove a main gap theorem for locally saturated submodels of a homogeneous structure. We also study the number of locally saturated models, which are not elementarily embeddable to each other. Through out this paper we assume that M is a homogeneous model of similarity type (=language) L . We study elementary submodels of M . We use M as the monster model is used in stability theory and so we...
