throughout the current study, the appropriate function for a description of egg production curve in a commercial broiler dam line was determined through fittings of a number of six mathematical models, namely: incomplete gamma function (wm): modified incomplete gamma function (mwm): compartmental function (cm): modified compartmental function )mcm): polynomial regression function of ali and sch...
PMC13 ESTIMATING COST-OF-ILLNESS USING GENERALIZED LINEAR MODELS: AN ALTERNATIVETOTHE SMEARING APPROACH Exuzides A, Colby C, Spalding JR ICON Clinical Research, San Francisco, CA, USA, Astellas Pharma US, Deerfield, IL, USA OBJECTIVES: Estimation of cost-of-illness typically involves the analysis of skewed medical costs that include large outliers. Log transformations are frequently used to ove...
Abstract The choice of a loss function is critical part in machine learning. This paper evaluates two different functions commonly used regression-task dimensional speech emotion recognition — error-based and correlation-based functions. We found that using with concordance correlation coefficient (CCC) resulted better performance than mean squared error (MSE) absolute (MAE). evaluations were m...
In late 2003, nine populations of Sclerotinia homoeocarpa in Ontario Canada (seven of which had been previously sampled in early 1994, prior to the registration of sterol demethylation-inhibiting (DMI) fungicides for turf disease control in Canada) were sampled and tested for sensitivity to propiconazole. Four of the nine populations had not been treated with DMI fungicides during the interveni...
In this article, we discuss the optimal and robust designs for accelerated life testing (ALT) when a step-stress plan is performed. It is assumed that the time to failure of a product has a Weibull distribution with a log-linear life-stress relationship. We adopt a generalized Khamis-Higgins model for the effect of changing stress levels. Taking into account that the assumed life-stress relatio...
The parameters of the two parameter exponential distribution are estimated in this article based on complete and Type-I censored samples from the Bayesian viewpoint. Bayes point estimates and credible intervals for the scale and location parameters are derived under the assumption of squared error loss function. An illustrative example is provided to motivate the proposed Bayes point estimates ...
In this study, the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) and Bayes estimation are exploited to make interval estimation based on adaptive progressive TypeII censoring for the Burr Type-XII distribution. Explicit form for the parameters of Bayes estimator doesn’t exist, so, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is used as approximation to find posterior mean under squared error loss function. Rea...
The paper proposes a sequential estimator theta of the parameter theta of an exponential distribution when the data are censored. It is shown that theta is asymptotically risk efficient when the loss is measured by the squared error of estimation of theta plus a linear function of the number of observations and that theta is asymptotically normal as the cost per observation goes to zero.
In this paper, we use the Linex loss function to derive the Bayesian estimate of the parameter of the exponential distribution based on ranked set sampling (RSS). Under this setup, we use both conjugate and Jeffreys prior distributions. To assess the efficiency of the obtained estimates, we compute the bias and mean squared error of the derived estimates and compare them with those based on the...
