We describe a new convex quadratic programming bound for the quadratic assignment problem (QAP). The construction of the bound uses a semideenite programming representation of a basic eigenvalue bound for QAP. The new bound dominates the well-known projected eigenvalue bound, and appears to be competitive with existing bounds in the tradeoo between bound quality and computational eeort.
Intended for mathematical physicists interested in applications of the division algebras to physics, this article highlights some of their more elegant properties with connections to the theories of Galois fields and quadratic residues.

In this paper, we obtain the upper exponential bounds for the tail probabilities of the quadratic forms for negatively dependent subgaussian random variables. In particular the law of iterated logarithm for quadratic forms of independent subgaussian random variables is generalized to the case of negatively dependent subgaussian random variables.
