A simple and direct spectrophotometric methods for determination of zinc are based on reaction with azo dyes: 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphtol (PAN) and Chromothrop 2B in the presence benzyldimethyldodecylammonium bromide (BDDABr) have been developed.
