The spatially controlled synthesis of poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) monolithic stationary phases in polyimide coated fused silica capillaries by visible light induced radical polymerisation using a three-component initiator and a 660 nm light emitting diode (LED) as a light source is presented here.

The optimal conditions of inkjet-printed nano-silver suspension and silver nitrate solution for fabricating continuous narrow conductive lines on a polyimide substrate are investigated. In addition, the effects of driving pulse voltage and droplet coverage on the bulging of as-printed conductive lines are also examined.

Targets of 58Ni and 60Ni with areal density between 71 and 105 μg/cm2 backed with polyimide foil of 35-40 μg/cm2 were prepared by sputtering with Ar ions produced by a home made sputtering device at the Target Laboratory, University of Jyväskylä. The efficiency of the procedure was about 20 %.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework-93 (ZIF-93) continuous membranes were synthesized on the inner side of P84 co-polyimide hollow fiber supports by microfluidics. MOFs and polymers showed high compatibility and the membrane exhibited H2-CH4 and CO2-CH4 separation selectivities of 97 (100 °C) and 17 (35 °C), respectively.
