. Range sensors, such as laser range finder and stereo vision systems, return point-samples of a scene. Typical point-sampled vision problems include registration, regularization and merging. We introduce a robust distance minimization approach to solving the three classes of problems. The approach is based on correlating kernels centered at point-samples, a technique we call kernel correlation...

An algorithm is presented that compares two quasi similar images by correlating selected points on them--assuming their coordinates are available. The procedure involves translational, magnificational and rotational operations to find corresponding point pairs on the pictures. The algorithm automatically compensates for slight dissimilarities between images and constructs a reference point data...

A new formulation has been developed to represent the vapor pressure of heavy water (D2O) from its triple point to its critical point. This work takes advantage of several developments since the publication of the best previous formulation: the availability of some new data in the lower part of the temperature range, the adoption of the ITS-90 temperature scale, and the adoption of recommended ...

Correlation is a very effective way to align intensity images. We extend the correlation technique to point set registration using a method we call kernel correlation. Kernel correlation is an affinity measure, and it is also a function of the point set entropy. We define the point set registration problem as finding the maximum kernel correlation configuration of the the two point sets to be r...

We report results for the angular three-point galaxy correlation function in the APM survey and compare them with theoretical expectations. For the first time, these measurements extend to sufficiently large scales to probe the weakly non-linear regime. On large scales, the results are in good agreement with the predictions of non-linear cosmological perturbation theory, for a model with initia...

In this paper we study the chiral symmetry breaking in the hard wall AdS/QCD model. We solve the equations of motion up to the second order at large momentum and obtain the first few terms in the expansion of the ”left-right” correlator, which is the measure of symmetry breaking. In the strong coupling calculation we get the result as the series in square root of t’Hooft constant.

We calculate the normalized angular three-point correlation function (3PCF), q, as well as the normalized angular skewness, s3, assuming the small-angle approximation, for a biased mass distribution in flat and open cold-dark-matter (CDM) models with Gaussian initial conditions. The leading-order perturbative results incorporate the explicit dependence on the cosmological parameters, the shape ...

Exact two point correlation functions of sine-Liouville theory are presented for primary fields with U(1) charge neutral, which may either preserve or break winding number. Our result is checked with perturbative calculation and is also consistent with previous one which can be obtained by restricting the action parameters. As recently proposed, the long-time behavior of equilibrium time-correlation functions for one-dimensional systems are expected to be captured by a nonlinear extension of fluctuating hydrodynamics. We outline the predictions from the theory aimed at the comparison with molecular dynamics. We report on numerical simulations of a fluid with a hard-shoulder potential and of a hard-point gas with a...
