Numerical simulations, performed with a new two-phase bi-projection scheme, of the collapse columns glass beads aspect ratios equal to 0.7 and 2 over horizontal plane are reported comparison experiments presented. A level-set formulation for Navier–Stokes equations is used, so that interface between granular material ambient air tracked. The flow modeled viscoplastic rheology, derived from μ ( ...

in the computational fluid dynamics (cfd) modeling of gas-solids two phase flow, the effect of boundary conditions play an important role in predicting the hydrodynamic characteristics of fluidized beds. in this work, the hydrodynamics of conical fluidized bed containing dried tio2 nano-agglomerates were studied both experimentally and computationally. the pressure drop was obtained by pressure...

a new three-dimensional unit cell model has been developed for modeling three constituent phases including inclusion, interphase and matrix. the total elastic modulus of nano-composite is evaluated.  numerical results are in good agreement with the previous proposed theoretical modeling. higher matrix and inclusion elastic modulus both can dramatically influence the total elastic modulus.

This paper discusses numerical modeling and experimental results on stress transfer in wood composites. The numerical model treats adhesive bonds using the concept of an imperfect interface. The displacement discontinuity at an imperfect interface is proportional to the tractions at the interface. A stiff interface will result in little discontinuity and maximum translation of wood component me...

Abstract Energy dissipater in the stilling basin is a structure designed to protect downstream of spillway from erosion and scour by reducing flow energy dissipation pool. pool an important element hydraulic structures as transition between high-velocity sensitive tail water. The aim this study investigate ratios baffle blocks which constructed Type III with different geometric shapes using phy...

Whether naturally- or artificially-induced due to human activities, decreasing increasing the suction in multiphase-fluid-saturated porous materials can lead enormous changes their thermo-hydromechanical properties. In this, both mathematical description and numerical modeling of coupled problem present a challenging task. The following contribution considers instance related micro-cryosuction-...

• Phase and group velocities of waves in a free rail are better understood. The operating deflection shapes measured to identify coupled modes. A synchronized multiple-acceleration wavelet is developed for dispersion analysis. Experimental methods study multimodal dispersive proposed. In this paper, we present solution method based on finite element (FE) modeling predict rail. As well as the mo...
