A class of new nonabelian gauge theories for vector fields on three manifolds is presented. The theories describe a generalization of three-dimensional YangMills theory featuring a novel nonlinear gauge symmetry and field equations for Lie-algebra valued vector potential fields. The nonlinear form of the gauge symmetry and field equations relies on the vector cross-product and vector curl opera...

Functional quantum theory is a new formulation of quantum theory and a new field theoretic calculational procedure which allows the treatment of quantized fields with positive metric as well as with indefinite metric beyond perturbation theory. It was developed by Stumpf and coworkers, cf. Stumpf [1]. In particular, it was devoted to the evaluation of Heisenberg's quantized nonlinear spinor equ...

A linear theory of whistler wave is developed wihtin the paradigm of a two dimensional incompressible electron magnetohydrodynamics model. Exact analytic wave solutions are obtained for a small amplitude whistler wave that exhibit magnetic field topological structures consistent with the observations and our simulations in linear regime. In agreement with experiment, we find that the parallel g...

The nonlinear dynamics of magnetic helicity HM, which is responsible for large-scale magnetic structure formation in electrically conducting turbulent media, is investigated in forced and decaying three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic turbulence. This is done with the help of high-resolution direct numerical simulations and statistical closure theory. The numerically observed spectral scaling o...

The new method based on the operator formalism proposed by Abe and Nakanishi is applied to the quantum nonlinear abelian gauge theory in two dimension. The soluble models in this method are extended to wider class of quantum field theories. We obtain the exact solution in the canonical-quantization operator formalism in the Heisenberg picture. So this analysis might shed some light on the analy...

Spatio-temporally chaotic dynamics of a classical field can be described by means of an infinite hierarchy of its unstable spatio-temporally periodic solutions. The periodic orbit theory yields the global averages characterizing the chaotic dynamics, as well as the starting semiclassical approximation to the quantum theory. New methods for computing corrections to the semiclassical approximatio...

An extension of the stochastic quantization scheme is proposed by adding nonlinear terms to the field equations. Our modification is motivated by the recently established theory of active Brownian motion. We discuss a way of promoting this theory to the case of infinite degrees of freedom. Equilibrium distributions can be calculated exactly and are interpreted as path integral densities of quan...

We complete the construction of a gauge-invariant action for NS-NS superstring field theory in the large Hilbert space begun in arXiv:1305.3893 by giving a closedform expression for the action and nonlinear gauge transformations. The action has the WZW-like form and vertices are given by a pure-gauge solution of NS heterotic string field theory in the small Hilbert space of right movers.

The frequency-dependent nonlinear dielectric increment of dipolar fluids in nonpolar fluids is often measured by using a stationary relaxation method in which two electric fields are used: The static direct current (dc) field of high strength causing the dielectric nonlinearity, and the probing alternating current (ac) field of low strength and high frequency. When a nonlinear composite is subj...

This paper generalizes Elkies’ construction of error-correcting nonlinear codes found in [N. Elkies, Excellent nonlinear codes from modular curves, in: Proceedings of the 33rd Annual ACM Symposium on the Theory of Computing, STOC’01, Hersonissos, Crete, Greece, 2001, pp. 200–208]. The generalization produces a precise average code size over codes in the new construction. The result is a larger ...
