Realizing in-plane surface diffraction by x-ray multiple-beam diffraction with large incidence angle
We propose a path loss model with an over-roof propagation path between mobile terminals in residential areas. A double knife-edge diffraction model shows that over-roof propagation loss can be accurately estimated. Measurement results confirm the estimation accuracy of the new model.
Zn0.97TM0.03O (TM = Co, Fe) thin films were deposited onto glass substrates by the sol–gel method and the effects of transition metals substitution on structural and optical properties of ZnO films were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the films have wurtzite structure. Optical transmittance of the films was recorded in the range of 200 -800 nm wave length and the band...
A common type of integral to solve numerically in computational room acoustics and other applications is the diffraction integral. Various formulations are encountered but they are usually of the Fourier-type, which means an oscillating integrand which becomes increasingly expensive to compute for increasing frequencies. Classical asympotic solution methods, such as the stationary-phase method,...
Angle dispersive x-ray diffraction (ADXRD) is a basic non destructive tool for the determination of crystal structure. Energy tunability and high flux are added advantages in using synchrotron radiation (SR) source for ADXRD technique. We have installed an ADXRD beamline (BL-12) on Indus-2, the Indian synchrotron source. Indus-2 is a 2.5GeV, 300mA SR source. The beamline consists of a Si (311) ...
We have performed Diffraction Anomalous Fine Structure measurements at the As K-edge of self-growth InAs/InP(001) Quantum Wires and InAs/GaAs(001) Quantum Dots. The samples have been grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy and their equivalent thickness is of 2.5 monolayers. We have measured the (440) and (420) Bragg reflections in glancing-angle scattering geometry, at incidence angles close to the su...
The spatial resolution of infrared thermometry is limited by diffraction to dimensions close to the wavelength of the collected infrared radiation, typically 5 μm at room temperatures. Thermal properties variations, temperature gradients, and defects with dimensions smaller than the diffraction limit are inaccessible to far-field infrared thermometry. This work demonstrates a near-field method ...
The problem of a monopole mounted near the edge of a wedge or a vertex is considered. Three types of solutions-surface patch modeling, moment method/geometrical theory of diffraction (MM/GTD), and MM/eigenfunction-are presented, discussed, and compared with measurements. Results are in the form of input impedance and radiation patterns.
Movement of a grating behind a fixed aperture can be detected by human subjects when the grating is well below the diffraction limit of the pupil and below acuity measured with stationary gratings. With movement one sees a flicker or ripple at the edges, and it is argued that these edge effects lead to spurious estimates of optical resolution in insects and man.
We present a low-temperature inverse micelle solvothermal approach for the synthesis of germanium nanocubes using the surfactant heptaethylene glycol monododecyl ether as a capping agent. X-ray diffraction results indicate that the as-prepared nanocubes are diamond-type pure germanium. Transmission electron microscopy observations show that the as-prepared germanium nanocubes have an edge lengt...
