Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis. We report a fatal case of ECD with extensive cardiac involvement associated with a marginal zone lymphoma and monoclonal proteinemia in a young man. This is the first reported association of ECD with a monoclonal gammopathy or a lymphoma.
We assume ε(t) | {X(s), y(s− 1), s ≤ t} ∼ N(0,Σ). This is the assumption that X(t) is predetermined in this system. In this notation, each equation (column of the system) has the same X(t) variable on the right-hand side and a distinct coefficient vector (column of B). However, we can consider versions of the system with 0 constraints on elements of B, which create different lists of variables ...
Mutual information (MI) quantifies the statistical dependency between a pair of random variables, and plays a central role in the analysis of engineering and biological systems. Estimation of MI is difficult due to its dependence on an entire joint distribution, which is difficult to estimate from samples. Here we discuss several regularized estimators for MI that employ priors based on the Dir...
Choice modelling (CM) is a stated preference technique that is increasingly being used to generate estimates of non-market values. In CM applications, respondents to a survey are presented with several sets of options, which contain common attributes but at varying levels, and are asked to select their preferred alternative from each set. The information provided by respondents’ choices is used...
INTRODUCTION This study examines the antibiotic prescription in dentists participated in 9(th) Congress of Iranian Association of Endodontists in Esfahan/2006. MATERIALS AND METHODS A questionnaire for this cross sectional study was designed for evaluating the patterns of antibiotic prescription. It included some demographic information, clinical signs, and conditions in need for antibiotic a...
This paper develops a simple but general methodology to estimate the expected intertemporal marginal rate of substitution or “EMRS”, using only data on asset prices and returns. Our empirical strategy is general, and allows the EMRS to vary arbitrarily over time. A novel feature of our technique is that it relies upon exploiting idiosyncratic risk, since theory dictates that idiosyncratic shock...
In this tutorial we show how complete hierarchical multinomial marginal (HMM) models for categorical variables can be defined, estimated and tested using the hmmm package.
