This paper presents a visualisation of the ASN and ontologies using AutoCAD. The geometric coordinates of nodes are based on the semantic distances. The whole semantic network or some selected parts are visualised on the screen, similar to a cartographic “map”. Per mouse click on some node, an application may be opened, which allows reading and modifying the attributes of the corresponding obje...

To make learning by reading easier, one strategy is to map language that is read onto a normalized knowledge representation. The normalization maps alternative expressions of the same content onto essentially identical representations. This brief position paper illustrates the power of this approach in PARC’s Bridge system through examples of textual inference.

The sequence of Junonia coenia densovirus was the first densovirus genome sequence published, but the first published sequence contained incomplete inverted terminal repeats and ambiguous nucleotides or indels leading to an incorrect map of the open reading frames. Our sequencing of clones of the complete genome demonstrated that this virus is closely related to other viruses in the Densovirus ...

We present a graphical criterion for reading dependencies from the minimal directed independence map G of a graphoid p, under the assumption that G is a polytree and p satisfies weak transitivity. We prove that the criterion is sound and complete. We argue that assuming weak transitivity is not too restrictive.

This paper presents our first participation in user-centred health information retrieval task at the CLEFeHealth 2014. This task has as objective the information retrieval to answer patients’ questions when reading clinical reports. We have submitted only the mandatory run (baseline system). The obtained results are motivating with map=0.1677 and p@10=0.5460 but can be improved.

Hypoperfusion of the optic nerve might be involved in pathogenesis normal-tension glaucomatous neuropathy (GON). Mean arterial pressure (MAP) drives ocular perfusion, but no previous studies have addressed risk GON relation to blood (BP) variability, independent BP level. In a cross-sectional study, 93 residents Maracaibo, Venezuela, underwent optical coherence tomography, visual field assessme...

In this paper, MapReduce programming model is used to parallelize training and tagging proceess in maximum entropy part of speech tagging for Bahasa Indonesia. In training process, MapReduce model is implemented dictionary, tagtoken, and feature creation. In tagging process, MapReduce is implemented to tag lines of document in parallel. The training experiments showed that total training time u...

In this paper we present a statistical method to build three-dimensional gas distribution maps (3D-DM). The proposed mapping technique uses kernel extrapolation with a tri-variate Gaussian kernel that models the likelihood that a reading represents the concentration distribution at a distant location in the three dimensions. The method is evaluated using a mobile robot equipped with three “e-no...

A pseudorabies virus (Becker strain) glycoprotein gene was located in the UL region at map position 0.40. The gene was identified by using open reading frame Escherichia coli plasmid expression vectors and specific antibody reagents. A 1.55-kilobase unspliced transcript from the gene was detected in pseudorabies virus-infected tissue culture cells. The DNA sequence revealed a single open readin...

A physical map, EcoMap10, of the now completely sequenced Escherichia coli chromosome is presented. Calculated genomic positions for the eight restriction enzymes BamHI, HindIII, EcoRI, EcoRV, BglI, KpnI, PstI, and PvuII are depicted. Both sequenced and unsequenced Kohara/Isono miniset clones are aligned to this calculated restriction map. DNA sequence searches identify the precise locations of...
