We studied the dependence of double ionization of H2 molecules on the carrierenvelope phase of a few-cycle laser pulse in the nonsequential double ionization regime. For short pulses at low intensities the strong dependence is due to the return energy of the rescattering electrons and the result may be used for determining the absolute value of the carrier envelope phase.

Electrons bound to atoms or molecules can simultaneously absorb multiple photons via the above-threshold ionization featured with discrete peaks in the photoelectron spectrum on account of the quantized nature of the light energy. Analogously, the above-threshold dissociation of molecules has been proposed to address the multiple-photon energy deposition in the nuclei of molecules. In this case...

an inversion procedure is used to obtain from the extended principle of corresponding - states the pair interaction potentials for argon, krypton and its mixture over a tetnperature range from absolute zero to the onset of ionization. the experimentally-reduced viscosity collision integrals obtained from the corresponding - states correlation have been inverted directly to give the reduced-inte...

We report on a combined experimental and theoretical study of the ionization energies and structures of small lithium doped silicon clusters, SinLim with n = 5-11 and m = 3-6. Photoionization efficiency curves are measured in the 4.68-6.24 eV range and subsequently compared with calculated values of both vertical and adiabatic ionization energies for the lowest energy isomers obtained using den...

background: the aim of this work was to study the output factors for linac using different ionization chambers and build up caps. materials and methods: output factors were measured for open square fields (3 × 3 cm to 40 × 40 cm) defined by collimator jaws for 6 and 15 mv photon beams from a varian clinac 2100c accelerator were measured. the measurements in air were performed using compact cyli...

A range of tuning methods, for enforcing approximate energy linearity through a system-by-system optimization of a range-separated hybrid functional, are assessed. For a series of atoms, the accuracy of the frontier orbital energies, ionization potentials, electron affinities, and orbital energy gaps is quantified, and particular attention is paid to the extent to which approximate energy linea...

Energy and angle differential cross sections for the electron-impact double ionization of helium are calculated using a non-perturbative time-dependent close-coupling method. Collision probabilities are found by the projection of a time-evolved nine-dimensional coordinate space wavefunction onto fully antisymmetric products of spatial and spin functions representing three outgoing Coulomb waves...

An important problem in mass isotopomer abundance mass spectrometry (MIAMS) is the dependence of measured mass isotopomer abundances on sample concentration. We have evaluated the role of ionization energy on mass isotopomer abundance ratios of methyl palmitate as a function of sample concentration. Ionization energy was varied using electron impact ionization (EI) and metastable atom bombardme...
