We report unusual negative thermal expansion and viscoelastic properties in graphene oxide paper. The paper was prepared from aqueous GO dispersions using a simple vacuum evaporation technique. From room temperature to 150 C, this paper-like graphene oxide sheet exhibits a constant negative thermal expansion coefficient of 67 · 10 / C along the in-plane direction. Peculiar hysteresis loops of t...

Composite materials: Tungsten disulfide and WS2 /reduced graphene oxide (WS2 /rGO) nanosheets were fabricated by hydrothermal synthesis using tungsten chloride, thioacetamide, and graphene oxide (GO) as starting materials. The WS2 nanosheets are efficiently templated on the rGO layer. The WS2 /rGO hybrid nanosheets show much better electrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction t...

Due to unique properties and unlimited possible applications, graphene has attracted abundant interest in the areas of nanobiotechnology. Recently, much work has focused on the synthesis and properties of graphene. Here we show that a successful reduction of graphene oxide (GO) using spinach leaf extract (SLE) as a simultaneous reducing and stabilizing agent. The as-prepared SLE-reduced graphen...

Electrochemical applications of graphene are of very high importance. For electrochemistry, bulk quantities of materials are needed. The most common preparation of bulk quantities of graphene materials is based on oxidation of graphite to graphite oxide and subsequent thermal exfoliation of graphite oxide to thermally reduced graphene oxide (TR-GO). It is important to investigate to which exten...

BACKGROUND This paper describes an environmentally friendly ("green") approach for the synthesis of soluble graphene using Bacillus marisflavi biomass as a reducing and stabilizing agent under mild conditions in aqueous solution. In addition, the study reported here investigated the cytotoxicity effects of graphene oxide (GO) and bacterially reduced graphene oxide (B-rGO) on the inhibition of c...

The grafted-graphene oxide/glass fiber/epoxy resin (grafted-GO/GF/EP) and dispersed-graphene (dispersed-GO/GF/EP) composites were successfully prepared by grafting graphene oxide (GO) on glass fiber (GF) with coupling agent random dispersion of GO. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was employed to characterize the micro structure. heat transfer RVE models grafted-GO/GF/EP dispersed-GO/GF/EP ...

We developed a facile strategy for clean synthesis of Pt/CeO(2)/graphene nanomaterials with remarkably enhanced catalytic properties. The graphene oxide (GO) could be used as an oxidant to oxidize Ce(3+) into CeO(2) NPs, and l-lysine was used as a linker to realize the in situ growth of Pt NPs around CeO(2) NPs dispersed on graphene.

Interfacial Assembly of Graphene Oxide In article number 2101659, Milad Kamkar, Uttandaraman Sundararaj, and co-workers demonstrate the great performance graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets at interface oil water. Super elasticity with highest ever reported interfacial storage modulus oil/water is achieved in presence only 0.04 vol.% GO, enabling sculpting water any desired shape.

We report that copper thin films deposited on top of graphene oxide (GO) serve as an effective catalyst to reduce GO sheets in a diluted hydrogen environment at high temperature. The reduced GO (rGO) sheets exhibit higher effective field-effect hole mobility, up to 80 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1), and lower sheet resistance (13 kΩ □(-1)) compared with those reduced by reported methods such as hydrazine an...
