Human red blood cell ghosts were prepared by dielectric breakdown of the cell membrane and subsequent electrical haemolysis in isotonic and isoionic solutions. Almost complete removal of haemoglobin (to about 0.1%) could be achieved by subjecting the erythrocytes suspended in isotonic solution to three consecutive electric field pulses of 16 kV/cm in the presence of 10 mM EDTA, followed by dilu...

BACKGROUND AND AIMS The endangered leafless ghost orchid, Dendrophylax lindenii, one of the most renowned orchids in the world, is difficult to grow under artificial conditions. Published information on asymbiotic and symbiotic (co-culture with a mycobiont) seed germination, seedling anatomy and developmental morphology of this leafless orchid is completely lacking. This information is critical...

We discuss a non-perturbative lattice calculation of the ghost and gluon propagators in the pure Yang-Mills theory in Landau gauge. The ultraviolet behaviour is checked up to NNNLO yielding the value Λ nf=0 MS = 269(5) −9 MeV, and we show that lattice Green functions satisfy the complete Schwinger-Dyson equation for the ghost propagator for all considered momenta. The study of the above propaga...

Computational ghost imaging (CGI) achieves single-pixel imaging by using a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) to generate structured illuminations for spatially resolved information encoding. The imaging speed of CGI is limited by the modulation frequency of available SLMs, and sets back its practical applications. This paper proposes to bypass this limitation by trading off SLM's redundant spatial ...

Dentinogenic ghost cell tumor (DGCT) is an uncommon locally invasive odontogenic tumor regarded by many as a variant of calcifying odontogenic cyst. The peripheral variant of this clinical rarity appears as a well-circumscribed mass mimicking a nonspecific gingival enlargement. Microscopic appearance of odontogenic epithelium admixed with focal areas of dentinoid formation and sheets of ghost c...

The anomalous dimensions of the gluon and ghost fields as well as those of the ghost-ghost-gluon and quark-quark-gluon vertexes are analytically computed at four loops in pQCD. Taken together with already available anomalous dimensions of the coupling constant, the quark field and the mass the results lead to complete knowledge of all renormalization constant entering into the renormalization o...

IN 1906 the founder of antenatal care, Dr. J. W. Ballantyne, read a valedictory address to the Edinburgh Obstetric Society. It took the form of a hypothetical, highly imaginative telephone conversation with the unknown President who should occupy the Chair thirty-four years later, in 1940. As it happened the normal activlties of the Edinburgh Society were suspended during the war years. But in ...

We construct a Hamiltonian for the nonlocal F(R) theory in present work. By this construction, we demonstrate nature of ghost degrees freedom. Finally, find conditions that give rise to ghost-free theories

Functional quantum theory is a new formulation of quantum theory and a new field theoretic calculational procedure which allows the treatment of quantized fields with positive metric as well as with indefinite metric beyond perturbation theory. It was developed by Stumpf and coworkers, cf. Stumpf [1]. In particular, it was devoted to the evaluation of Heisenberg's quantized nonlinear spinor equ...
