With his speeches and messages in hajj days, Imam Khomeini tried to introduce Islamic Awakening as the spirit of war against colonization and global arrogance and attract Muslims' attention to political and social functions of hajj to offer Muslims dignity and inspire them to start an Islamic movement. In his opinion, hajj is an atmosphere to gain knowledge about Islam and to enlighten people a...

Skeletal abnormalities including osteoporosis and osteopenia occur frequently in both pediatric and adult neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients. NF1 (Nf1) haploinsufficient osteoclasts and osteoclast progenitors derived from both NF1 patients and Nf1(+/-) mice exhibit increased differentiation, migration, and bone resorptive capacity in vitro, mediated by hyperactivation of p21(Ras) in respon...

This paper shows that the use of dynamic compensation based on generalized sampled-data hold hmdious (GSHF) can arbitrarily improve the gain margin for continuous-time mnminimum phase linear systems The GSHF compensator is a particular periodic digital contrdler mu& simpler than that used in [4]. The effect of sampling period on the gain margin is analyzed. Furthermore, it is proved that under ...

We consider networks of input-to-state dynamically stable (ISDS) systems and use a small-gain condition to assure the ISDS property for their interconnection. Under this small-gain condition we provide a construction of an ISDS Lyapunov function including explicit derivation of corresponding rates and gains for the whole interconnection. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. We examine problems of placing facilities in a tree graph to serve customers. The decision of placement is driven by an election process amongst the users, where the user preference is modeled by distances in the tree. Relaxed user preferences introduce a tolerance of users against small di erences in distances. Monotonous gain functions are a natural generalization of well known competitive an...

This paper addresses the computation of the L2induced gain for switched linear systems. The main contribution of the paper is to completely characterize the induced gain of a switched system though a differential inequalities on a finitely parametrized common storage function, one for each system being switched. The motivation for computing the induced gain of a switched system is the applicati...

This paper addresses the design problem of GainScheduled (GS) H2 filters for Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) systems under the condition that only inexactly measured scheduling parameters are available. The state-space matrices of the LPV systems are supposed to be polynomially parameter dependent and those of filters which are to be designed are supposed to be rationally parameter dependent. Th...

In this paper, we study stability and performance properties of linear fractional transformation (LFT) parameter-dependent systems using duality theory and tools from convex analysis. A pair of conjugate functions, the convex hull and the maximum of a family of quadratic functions, are used for analysis and synthesis of LFT systems. Sufficient synthesis conditions for both robust state feedback...
