analysis), or by internal signposting. At times its prose is hard to pin down. Thus p. 34: Throughout Freud's writings we find that sexuality evokes a certain sluggishness in the mental apparatus, an absence of thought. (Though we should also be clear that this mysterious recalcitrance was also the occasion for the greatest intellectual efforts of which the psyche was capable; the problems pose...

In this paper we propose the concept of formal desingularizations as a substitute for the resolution of algebraic varieties. Though a usual resolution of algebraic varieties provides more information on the structure of singularities there is evidence that the weaker concept is enough for many computational purposes. We give a detailed study of the Jung method and show how it facilitates an eff...

BACKGROUND/AIM In our Intensive Coronary Care Unit (CCU) a specific scoring system named the AMIS_NS was developed both for prediction of mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction and for evaluation of the quality of work. One of the most important variables of the AMIS_NS system is the variable Jung which stands for the interrelationship unified mortality predictors. The variable ...

New sufficient conditions are derived for generalized cycles (including Hamilton and dominating as special cases) in an arbitrary k-connected (k = 1, 2, ...) graph, which prove the truth of Bondy’s (1980) famous conjecture some variants significantly improving result expected by given hypothesis. Similarly, new lower bounds circumference (the length a longest cycle) established reverse hypothes...

Jung says clearly ‘the archetype itself is empty.’ What precisely does he mean by empty? We may infer that in the context of his definition, emptiness has something to do with the possibility of imaginal representation as it is filled out by the content of our human experience. The content of the empty archetype, or the image is not determined. It has infinite variety or a boundless quality. In...

In this paper we generalize a Theorem of Jung which shows that 1-tough graphs with (G) |V (G)|−4 2 are hamiltonian. Our generalization shows that these graphs contain a wide variety of 2-factors. In fact, these graphs contain not only 2-factors having just one cycle (the hamiltonian case) but 2-factors with k cycles, for any k such that 1 k n−16 4 . © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

NAND flash-based storage devices have rapidly improved their position in the secondary storage market ranging from mobile embedded systems to personal computer and enterprise storage systems. Recently, the most important issue of NAND flash-based storage systems is the performance of random writes as well as sequential writes, which strongly depends on their two main software layers: a Buffer M...

Psychologists usually considered the "Self" as an object of experience appearing when the individual perceives its existence within the conscious field. In accordance with such a view, the self-representing capacity of the human mind has been related to corticolimbic learning processes taking place within individual development. On the other hand, Carl Gustav Jung considered the Self as the cor...
