As usual, we consider integral operators attached to compactly supported measures η on the group G, and exploit the intrinsic sense of such operators on any reasonable representation space for G, for example, Hilbert, Banach, Fréchet, and LF (strict colimits of Fréchet), or, generally,, quasi-complete, locally convex spaces. For a representation π, V of G, and a compactly-supported measure η, t...

The paper contains calculus rules for coderivatives of compositions, sums and intersections of set-valued mappings. The types of coderivatives considered correspond to Dini-Hadamard and limiting Dini-Hadamard subdifferentials in Gâteaux differentiable spaces, Fréchet and limiting Fréchet subdifferentials in Asplund spaces and approximate subdifferentials in arbitrary Banach spaces. The key elem...

We consider the Fréchet distance between two curves which are given as a sequence of m + n curved pieces. If these pieces are sufficiently wellbehaved, we can compute the Fréchet distance in O(mn log(mn)) time. The decision version of the problem can be solved in O(mn) time. The results are based on an analysis of the possible intersection patterns between circles and arcs of bounded curvature.

It is known that a Fréchet space F can be realized as a projective limit of a sequence of Banach spaces Ei. The space Kc(F) of all compact, convex subsets of a Fréchet space, F, is realized as a projective limit of the semilinear metric spacesKc(E). Using the notion of Hukuhara derivative for maps with values inKc(F), we prove the local and global existence theorems for an initial value problem...

Abstract In this paper, the concept of generalized saddle point(GSP) is employed to discuss the optimization problems of a set of convex functions on a normed linear space X , which presents an equivalence under a special condition between GSP and its optimum solution. A study on integrated convex optimization problem by using Gâteaux and Fréchet differentiability respectivly, and the equivalen...

Given a digital curve and a maximum error, we propose an algorithm that computes a simplification of the curve such that the Fréchet distance between the original and the simplified curve is less than the error. The algorithm uses an approximation of the Fréchet distance, but a guarantee over the quality of the simplification is proved. Moreover, even if the theoretical complexity of the algori...

We present a local convergence analysis of a Modified Halley-Like Method of high convergence order in order to approximate a solution of a nonlinear equation in a Banach space. Our sufficient convergence conditions involve only hypotheses on the first Fréchet-derivative of the operator involved. Earlier studies use hypotheses up to the third Fréchet-derivative [26]. Numerical examples are also ...

In this paper, we study the semilocal convergence of a fifth order iterative method using recurrence relation under the assumption that first order Fréchet derivative satisfies the Hölder condition. Also, we calculate the R-order of convergence and provide some a priori error bounds. Based on this, we give existence and uniqueness region of the solution for a nonlinear Hammerstein integral equa...

We explore in arbitrary Banach spaces the Fréchet type ε-subdifferentials and the limiting subdifferentials for the perturbed distance function dS(·) determined by a closed subset S and a lower semicontinuous function J defined on S. In particular, upper and lower estimates for the Fréchet type ε-subdifferentials and for the limiting subdifferentials are provided in terms of the corresponding s...
