A 53 year man presented with pain right upper quadrant for seven months. On evaluation he was found to have a large right adrenal myelolipoma. Laparoscopically by transperitoneal right flank approach this was removed. Postoperative recovery was uneventful. Operative specimen's histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of adrenal myelolipoma.
A patient with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus presented with fever and flank pain. A computed tomography scan showed free air within both collecting systems. A diagnosis of emphysematous pyelitis was made after other alternative diagnoses were ruled out. Urine culture grew Candida tropicalis. The emphysematous pyelitis resolved with conservative management using antifungal therapy.
A 33-year-old male presented to the Chiba University Hospital with the main complaint of right flank pain. Bilateral vas deferens were not palpable. Hormonal examination revealed hypergonadotropic hypogonadism and cytogenetic studies a 47,XXY karyotype. The significance of the association of this karyotype with the absence of vas deferens is discussed.
Extrapulmonary involvement of tuberculosis occurs in 10-40% of reported cases. However, tuberculous mycotic aneurysm is very rare. We report herein tuberculous mycotic aneurysm of left common iliac artery secondary from ureteric tuberculosis in a 63-year-old man who presented with left flank pain for 1 month, and review the literature of all reported cases of tuberculous aneurysm of iliac artery.
