to determine the amount of food amino acid and to spend time in the laboratories are expensive & time-consuming due to a chemical analysis. in the current laboratories, digestion nirs method is widely used for this purpose. but this method has technical limitation. therefor is important find appropriate method for estimate amount of amino acids. artificial neural network (ann) can provide a bet...

Gut-associated microbes of insects are postulated to provide a variety of nutritional functions including provisioning essential amino acids (EAAs). Demonstrations of EAA provisioning in insect-gut microbial systems, nonetheless, are scant. In this study, we investigated whether the eastern subterranean termite Reticulitermes flavipes sourced EAAs from its gut-associated microbiota. δ (13)CEAA ...

The chloride/anion channels that have been so far identified in cultured astrocytes and those that have been confirmed in situ by a combination of mRNA identification, immunocytochemistry, and biophysical studies are reviewed. It is emphasized that we are just beginning to describe such channels and analyze their functions in astrocytes. The best-studied anion channels studied so far are those ...

We have synthesized a biologically inert, photosensitive derivative of the major excitatory amino acid, L-glutamate (which we call MDNI-glu) that makes more efficient use of incident light than all other caged glutamates. Laser flash photolysis of MDNI-glu in acutely isolated hippocampal brain slices evoked a rapid increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentration in astrocytes.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect on breathing of neuronal dysfunction in the retrotrapezoid (RTN), facial (FN), gigantocellularis reticularis (RGN), or vestibular (VN) nuclei of adult awake goats. Microtubules were chronically implanted to induce neuronal dysfunction by microinjection of an excitatory amino acid (EAA) receptor antagonist or a neurotoxin. The EAA receptor an...

The role of excitatory amino acid (EAA) receptors in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) in maintaining resting sympathetic vasomotor tone remains unclear. It has been proposed that EAA receptors in the RVLM mediate excitatory inputs both to presympathetic neurons and to interneurons in the caudal ventrolateral medulla (CVLM), which then provide a counterbalancing inhibition of RVLM presym...

The effects of globus pallidus (GP) lesion were examined in two monkeys trained to perform a visually guided pointing movement in simple and choice reaction time tasks involving small and large amplitude movements. The reaction time (RT) and the movement time (MT) were measured. The Y-axis error (EY) was also analyzed in order to assess the movement accuracy. Unilateral GP lesion was made by lo...

This question remains incompletely answered 2 decades later, during which excitatory amino acids and calcium toxicity have been central research and therapeutic targets. Recently, attention has returned to a central neurochemical feature of ischemic brain injury, acidosis, which was focused on in Plum’s lecture. Targeting this effector of injury as therapy for brain ischemia now may be closer a...

Using Gaussian 03, software the thermodynamic functions such as Gibbs free energy, G, Enthalpy, H, and Entropy, S, of Alanine and Valine amino acids were theoretically studied at different solvents. First, the Density Functional Theory (B3LYP) level with 3-21G, 6-31G and 6-31+G basis sets were employed to optimization of isolated Alanine and Valine amino acids in the gas phase. Moreover, Vib...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on taste feeding behavior of Persian sturgeon (Acipenser persicus) juveniles, including taste palatability index, fishing efficiency and the number of consumed pellets, to some amino acids. Taste Feeding behavior was investigated following exposure to 0.01, 0.005 and 0.001 mg L-1 AgNPs for 21 (each group with 3 re...
