Two recent results in ep physics using the ZEUS detector at HERA are discussed: a measurement of the prompt photon production cross section in photoproduction, and the first observation of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering in DIS.

Selected aspects of photoproduction in ep scattering at the HERA collider, studied with the ZEUS detector, are presented. The results are interpreted in the formalism of Vector Dominance Model, Regge theory and perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics.

Recent experimental results on diffractive high ET jet production and diffractive open charm production, obtained by the H1 and ZEUS experiments at HERA, are presented. Various theoretical models for diffractive hard scattering are discussed and confronted with the experimental data.

New precision measurements of inclusive diffractive deep-inelastic ep scattering interactions, performed by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations at the HERA collider, are discussed. A new set of diffractive parton distributions, determined from recent high precision H1 data, is presented.

In the framework of semihard QCD approach, with the emphasis on the BFKL evolution of gluon distributions, we calculate the differential cross sections of inclusive D mesons electroproduction at HERA and confront our results with available ZEUS experimental data.

We have calculated inclusive two-jet production in low Q 2 ep collisions at O(αα 2 s) superimposing direct and resolved contributions. The results are compared with recent experimental data from the ZEUS collaboration at HERA.
