At the dairy research farm Karkendamm, the individual roughage intake was measured since 1 September 2005 using a computerised scale system to estimate daily energy balances as the difference between energy intake and calculated energy requirements for lactation and maintenance. Data of 289 heifers with observations between the 11th and 180th day of lactation over a period of 487 days were anal...

estimation of fillet biochemical composition and processing yield is primary needs for fish processing. present study was aimed to investigate for determining fillet biochemical composition and processing yield of bighead (hypophthalmichthys nobilis) for nutritional labeling and economical estimation of its products by regression equations. for this purpose 55 specimen of bighead were applied i...

Energy use and greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions in rainfed canola production in north eastern Iran were analyzed to find measures to reduce energy use and GHG emissions. Four production scenarios, i.e. a high-input, a low-input, a better crop management and a usual scenario, evaluated. All activities and production processes were monitored and recorded over three consecutive years. The usua...

The existence of a threshold energy dependence is shown for the charging of geostationary spacecraft in eclipse. Applied Technology Satellite 6 and P78-2 (SCATHA) data show that plasma sheet fluxes must extend above 10 keV for these satellites to charge in eclipse. The existence of a threshold energy is significant because magnetospheric convection boundaries produce relatively sharp phase spac...

VIII Abstract Anaerobic digestion of energy crops for biogas production has attracted much interest in recent years. In Germany, the most common process is the continuous wet-fermentation of energy crops with cattle slurry or pig slurry (co-digestion). But also the digestion of energy crops as single substrate without slurry (mono-digestion) becomes more important. Because of the great diversit...

We consider the problem of scheduling a set of n tasks on m processors under precedence, communication, and global system energy constraints to minimize makespan. We extend existing scheduling models to account for energy usage and give convex programming algorithms that yield essentially the same results as existing algorithms that do not consider energy, while adhering to a strict energy bound.
