Eccrine syringofibroadenoma is a rare benign adnexal neoplasm derived from cells of the acrosyringium of eccrine sweat glands. ESFA usually manifests as a solitary nodule on the extremities of elderly patients, but it may also present as papules, nodules or plaques. Its clinical appearance is nonspecific and malignant neoplasms should be considered in the differential diagnosis. However, histop...
The aim of this article is to highlight the importance of Eccrine Spiradenoma (ES) in the differential diagnosis of chronic soft tissue lesions of the foot. These include a broad spectrum of nonneoplasm lesions, as well as benign and malignant neoplasms. Benign tumours include deep fibromatosis, neurogenic tumours, lipoma, haemangioma, synovial proliferations, and exceptionally rare on foot, sk...
Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare type of skin cancer that originates from eccrine sweat glands or acrosyringium and mainly occurs in the elderly. In this report, we describe an 85-year-old Japanese woman with eccrine porocarcinoma that metastasized to a cervical lymph node who was cured with CyberKnife radiosurgery. Because our patient had a high risk of perioperative complication, standard surg...
Eccrine spiradenoma is an uncommon benign adnexal tumour of apocrine differentiation. It is commonly seen in young adults with no sex predilection on upper ventral aspect of body as a solitary papule or nodule. Here we are reporting a rare case of Multiple Eccrine Spiradenoma (MES) in a 29 year male patient, who presented with multiple nodules on the anterior chest wall.
BACKGROUND Cluster designation 23 (CD23) is generally used as a lymphoid marker. Its utility in cutaneous epithelial tumors has never been studied. In our routine practice, we observed that CD23 reacted strongly with eccrine and apocrine secretory coils. METHODS Immunohistochemical staining of CD23 was performed in a total of 131 cases of apocrine, eccrine, follicular and other cutaneous non-...
The Gulf Journal of Dermatology and Venereology ABSTRACT Background: Although many treatments have been suggested for eccrine hydrocyctoma so far, most of them are disappointing. The autonomic inhibitory effect of botulinum toxin type-A (BT-A) can result in successful treatment of eccrine hydrocyctoma. Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of BT-A in treatment of eccrine ...
Neutrophilic eccrine hidradenitis (NEH) is a neutrophilic dermatosis primarily affecting the eccrine glands and occurs in patients undergoing chemotherapy. It must be distinguished from infections, drug eruptions, leukaemia cutis or other forms of skin diseases. As it is self-limiting, establishing the diagnosis will avoid unnecessary treatment for infections or changes in drug therapy.
Background: Eccrine hydrocystomas are essentially eccrine sweat gland retention cyst located in the dermis that clinically presents as small translucent cystic swelling. Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 20% aluminum chloride hexahydrate in absolute alcohol in the treatment of eccrine hydrocystoma. Patients and Methods: In a randomized, double-blind...
Dermal duct tumor is a rare, benign tumor. Clinically, dermal duct tumor presents as a firm papule, plaque or nodule, particularly on the lower limbs or head and neck region. Dermal duct tumor is been classified as poroma. Poroma can have divergent differentiation, but showing prominent ductal and sebaceous differentiation is rare. We present a case of dermal duct tumor with prominent ductal an...
