This paper focuses on a tutorial overview of defected ground structure (DGS). The basic conceptions and transmission characteristics of DGS are introduced and the equivalent circuit models of varieties of DGS units are also presented. Finally, the main applications of DGS in microwave technology field are summarized and the evolution trend of DGS is given.

The objective of this study was to evaluate production response and more specifically percentage and yield of fat in milk from dairy cows fed distillers grains with added solubles (DGS). It was hypothesized that the oil present in DGS would decrease milk fat yield. Four dietary treatments consisted of dried DGS replacing soybean meal and soybean hulls. The DGS inclusion rates as a percentage of...

Increasing distributed generations (DGs) are integrated into the distribution network. The risk of not satisfying operation constraints caused by uncertainty renewable energy output is increasing. storage (ES) could stabilize fluctuation generation output. Therefore, it can promote consumption energy. A photovoltaic (PV) and ES optimal allocation method based on security region proposed. Firstl...

Regarding the advances in technology and anxieties around high and growing prices of fossil fuels, government incentives increase to produce cleaner and sustainable energy through distributed generations. This makes trends in the using microgrids which consist of electric demands and different distributed generations and energy storage systems. The optimum operation of microgrids with consideri...

A feeding trial was conducted with 870-lb steers fed 137 days to evaluate replacing cracked corn with dry and wet distillers grains with solubles (DGS) as feed for finishing cattle. Dry DGS was evaluated at 16% of diet dry matter. Wet DGS (WDGS) was evaluated at 14.6%, 26.2%, and 37.5% of diet dry matter. Control diets were supplemented with urea or a combination of urea and soybean meal. Feedi...

Power generation and transmission infrastructure is vulnerable to the interaction of various Distributed Generations (DG), which leads imbalance power system operation, frequent voltage drops or spikes, even outages. This phenomenon not only wastes energy, but also affects grid security. The main reason a delayed feedback circuit failure load changes, optimization energy management path an effe...

The constantly increasing number of power generation devices based on renewables is calling for a transition from the centralized control of electrical distribution grids to a distributed control scenario. In this context, distributed generators (DGs) are exploited to achieve other objectives beyond supporting loads, such as the minimization of the power losses along the distribution lines. The...

Distributed Generation (DG) is expected to play a key role in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors of the power system. Distributed Generation (DG) provides an alternative to the traditional electricity sources i.e. oil, gas, coal, water etc. and can also be used to enhance the current electrical system. The technologies for DG are based on reciprocating engines, photovoltaic, fue...
