The zero-divisor graph of a commutative semigroup with zero is the graph whose vertices are the nonzero zero-divisors of the semigroup, with two distinct vertices adjacent if the product of the corresponding elements is zero. New criteria to identify zerodivisor graphs are derived using both graph-theoretic and algebraic methods. We find the lowest bound on the number of edges necessary to guar...

Graph structures are utilized to represent a wide range of objects including naturally graph-like objects such as molecules and derived graph structures such as connectivity graphs for region-based image retrieval. This paper proposes to extend the applicability of the Earth Mover's Distance [RTG98] (EMD) to graph objects by deriving a similarity model with a representation of structural graph ...

This paper presents a method for automatic topic identification using a graph-centrality algorithm applied to an encyclopedic graph derived from Wikipedia. When tested on a data set with manually assigned topics, the system is found to significantly improve over a simpler baseline that does not make use of the external encyclopedic knowledge.

The toughness of a graph G is the minimum of |S|/k(G − S) over all sets S of vertices such that k(G − S) ≥ 2. In this paper upper bounds on the toughness of a cubic graph are derived in terms of the independence number and coloring parameters. These are applied to cycle permutation graphs. Running head: as per title.

We characterize the compatibility of a collection of unrooted phylogenetic trees as a question of determining whether a graph derived from these trees — the display graph — has a specific kind of triangulation, which we call legal. Our result is a counterpart to the well known triangulation-based characterization of the compatibility of undirected multi-state characters.

In this paper, we study how two important ideals of a given Lie algebra g (namely, the center Z(g) and the derived Lie algebra D(g)) can be translated into the language of Graph Theory. In this way, we obtain some criteria and characterizations of these ideals using Graph Theory.

We present an eecient algorithm which computes the set of minimal separators of a graph in O(n 3) time per separator, thus gaining a factor of n 2 on the current best-time algorithms for this problem. Our process is based on a new structural result, derived from Kloks and Kratsch's work on listing all the minimal separators of a graph.

In this paper we study the gradient estimate for positive solutions of Schrodinger equations on locally finite graph. Then we derive Harnack’s inequality for positive solutions of the Schrodinger equations. We also set up some results about Green functions of the Laplacian equation on locally finite graph. Interesting properties of Schrodinger equation are derived. Mathematics Subject Classific...

Grammar inference deals with determining (preferably simple) models/grammars consistent with a set of observations. There is a large body of research on grammar inference within the theory of formal languages. However, there is surprisingly little known on grammar inference for graph grammars. In this paper we take a further step in this direction and work within the framework of node label con...

‎in this paper we defined the vertex removable cycle in respect of the following‎, ‎if $f$ is a class of graphs(digraphs)‎ ‎satisfying certain property‎, ‎$g in f $‎, ‎the cycle $c$ in $g$ is called vertex removable if $g-v(c)in in f $.‎ ‎the vertex removable cycles of eulerian graphs are studied‎. ‎we also characterize the edge removable cycles of regular‎ ‎graphs(digraphs).‎
