The study of the diffusive behavior of glioma tumor growth is an active field of biomedical research with considerable therapeutic implications. An important aspect of the corresponding computational problem is the mathematical handling of boundary conditions. This paper aims at providing an explicit and thorough numerical formulation of the adiabatic Neumann boundary conditions imposed by the ...

The effect of thermophoresis particle deposition on unsteady free convective, heat and mass transfer in a viscoelastic fluid along a semiinfinite vertical plate is investigated. The Walters-B liquid model is employed to simulate medical creams and other rheological liquids encountered in biotechnology and chemical engineering. The dimensionless unsteady, coupled and non-linear partial different...

We consider the fractional cable equation. For solution of fractional Cable equation involving Caputo fractional derivative, a new difference scheme is constructed based on Crank Nicholson difference scheme. We prove that the proposed method is unconditionally stable by using spectral stability technique.

We study Soret-Dufour and radiation effects on unsteady viscous incompressible MHD flow along semi infinite inclined permeable moving plate with variable temperature and mass diffusion embedded in a porous medium numerically, by taking into account the effect of viscous dissipation. The dimensionless governing equations of flow field are solved numerically by Crank-Nicolson finite difference me...

The initial-boundary value problem for a linear parabolic equation with the Dirichlet boundary condition is solved approximately by applying the finite element discretization in the space dimension and three types of finite-difference discretizations in time: the backward, the Crank-Nicolson and the Calahan discretization. New error bounds are derived.

Concerning the problem of the low cutting quality and the bevel edge in the piece of lotus root, the reason was analyzed and the method of improvement was to reduce the force in the vertical direction of link to knife. 3D parts and assemblies of cutting mechanism in slicing machine of lotus root were created under Pro/E circumstance. Based on virtual prototype technology, the kinematics and dyn...

PURPOSE Manufacturers of uncoupled cycling cranks claim that their use will increase economy of motion and gross efficiency. Purportedly, this occurs by altering the muscle-recruitment patterns contributing to the resistive forces occurring during the recovery phase of the pedal stroke. Uncoupled cranks use an independent-clutch design by which each leg cycles independently of the other (ie, th...

Variable-order fractional diffusion equation model is a recently developed and promising approach to characterize time-dependent or concentration-dependent anomalous diffusion, or diffusion process in inhomogeneous porous media. To further study the properties of variableorder time fractional subdiffusion equation models, the efficient numerical schemes are urgently needed. This paper investiga...

In this paper, Hamilton’s principle, Lagrange multiplier, geometric constraints and partitioning method are employed to derive the dynamic equations of a slider-crank mechanism driven by a servomotor. The formulation is expressed by only one independent variable and considers the effects of mass, external force and motor electric inputs. Comparing the dynamic responses between the experimental ...

in this paper , the quintic b-spline collocation scheme is employed to approximate numerical solution of the kdv-like rosenau equation . this scheme is based on the crank-nicolson formulation for time integration and quintic b-spline functions for space integration . the unconditional stability of the present method is proved using von- neumann approach . since we do not know the exact solution...
