in the present paper‎, ‎we show the existence of a coupled fixed point for a non-decreasing mapping in partially ordered complete metric space using a partial order induced by an appropriate function $phi$‎. ‎we also define the concept of weakly related mappings on an ordered space‎. ‎moreover common coupled fixed points for two and three weakly related mappings are also proved in the same space‎.

This paper presents a new numerical approach to the simulation of plasma equilibrium evolution in tokamaks. It is based on an unusual coupling formulation current diffusion and axi-symmetric equations that does not require use flux-surface averages allows for fast Newton-type iterations schemes. A detailed derivation coupled system non-linear its discretization provided. Numerical examples, imp...

This paper compares three techniques for coupling multiphase porous flow and geomechanics. Sample simulations are presented to highlight the similarities and differences in the techniques. One technique uses an explicit algorithm to couple porous flow and displacements in which flow calculations are performed every timestep and displacements are calculated only during selected timesteps. A seco...

We regard a network of systems with coupled dynamics or constraints that we want to control optimally. The cost function is assumed to be separable and convex. We show that the corresponding centralized model predictive control (MPC) problem can be recast as a separable convex optimization problem. Furthermore, we present a dual-based decomposition method, called here the proximal center method...

In this paper we introduce an iterative Jacobi algorithm for solving distributed model predictive control (DMPC) problems, with linear coupled dynamics and convex coupled constraints. The algorithm guarantees stability and persistent feasibility, and we provide a localized procedure for constructing an initial feasible solution by constraint tightening. Moreover, we show that the solution of th...

We investigate properties of algorithms that are used to solve coupled evolutionary partial differential equations posed on neighboring, nonoverlapping domains, where the solutions are coupled by continuity of state and normal flux through a shared boundary. The algorithms considered are based on the widely used approach of iteratively exchanging boundary condition data on the shared boundary a...

BACKGROUND Astym(®) therapy is a manual therapy intervention used to stimulate tissue healing, decrease pain, improve mobility, and improve muscle performance associated with musculoskeletal pathology. The purpose of this study was to determine if Astym therapy administered to the lower extremity would result in an immediate change of maximal force output during a unilateral isometric squat tes...

Numerical formulations of density functional theories for inhomogeneous fluids (Fluid-DFTs) require the solution of large systems of equations with many degrees of freedom (DOFs) per node on a computational grid. Historically solvers for these problems have used simple Picard iterations across DOFs or, more recently, fully-coupled general algebraic techniques. In this paper we look at Fluid-DFT...

Objective(s): We evaluated edge artifacts in relation to phantom diameter and reconstruction parameters in point spread function (PSF)-based positron emission tomography (PET) image reconstruction. Methods: PET data were acquired from an original cone-shaped phantom filled with 18F solution (21.9 kBq/mL) for 10 min using a Biograph mCT scanner. The images were reconstructed using the baseline or...
