The theory of locally convex cones, as developed in [3], deals with ordered cones that are not necessarily embeddable in vector spaces. A topological structure is introduced using order theoretical concepts. We will review some of the main concepts and globally refer to [3] for details and proofs. An ordered cone is a set endowed with an addition and a scalar multiplication for nonnegative real...
Let K be a connected compact Lie group. The triples (O1, O2, O3) of adjoint K-orbits such that O1+O2+O3 contains 0 are parametrized by a closed convex polyhedral cone. This cone is denoted Γ(K) and called the eigencone of K. For K simple of type A, B or C we give an inductive cohomology free description of the minimal set of linear inequalities which characterizes Γ(K).
We calculate the strong coupling constants gP P ∗π, where P ∗∗ (D∗∗, B∗∗) is the 1+ p-wave state, in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules, and using these values of gP P ∗π, we compute the hadronic decay widths for D ∗∗ → D∗ π and B∗∗ → B∗ π. ∗Permanent address: Institute of Physics, Azerbaijanian Academy of Sciences, Baku, Azerbaijan
Let G be a reductive algebraic group, with nilpotent cone N and flag variety B. We construct an exact functor from perverse sheaves on N to locally constant sheaves on B, and we use it to study Ext-groups and stalks of simple perverse sheaves on N in terms of the cohomology of B. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: Primary 20G05; Secondary 14F05, 32S60.
27 ICEBs1 is an integrative and conjugative element found in the chromosome of Bacillus 28 subtilis. ICEBs1 encodes functions needed for its excision and transfer to recipient cells. We 29 found that the ICEBs1 gene conE (formerly yddE) is required for conjugation and that 30 conjugative transfer of ICEBs1 requires a conserved ATPase domain of ConE. ConE belongs to 31 the HerA/FtsK superfamily ...
Such an eigenvalue problem arises in mechanics and in other areas of applied mathematics. The symbol K refers to a closed convex cone in the Euclidean space R and (A,B) is a pair of possibly asymmetric matrices of order n. Special attention is paid to the case in which K is the nonnegative orthant of R. The more general case of a possibly unpointed polyhedral convex cone is also discussed in de...
Previously we have reported on our work on coating a truncated-cone-shaped \engineering" (not high quality in terms of smoothness) mandrel and have removed the layers, intact, on the inside of an electroform with a cylindrical, truncated-cone geometry. We have advanced to using a high quality (about 0.5 nm) smooth truncated cone. We report our latest advances in re ning our fabrication techniqu...
Using the light cone QCD Sum Rules Method, we study the rare B ! decay and nd that the branching ratios are, B(Bs ! ) ' 7:5 10 , B(Bd ! ) ' 4:2 10 . A comparision of our results, on branching ratio, with constituent quark and pole dominance model predictions are presented. e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected]
This work describes the formulation of the manifestly ghost-free (spacetime) light-cone gauge for bosonic string theory with non-trivial spacetime metric, antisymmetric tensor, dilaton and tachyon fields. The action is a general two-dimensional sigma model, corresponding to a closed string theory with a second order action in the Polyakov picture. The spacetime fields must have a symmetry gener...
In many-body localized systems, propagation of information forms a light cone that grows logarithmically with time. However, local changes in energy or other conserved quantities are expected to spread only within a finite distance. Is it possible to detect the logarithmic light cone using local observables, starting from thermal states or eigenstates? Here we show that this is indeed the case,...
