Four new azo-dyes, 3-phenyl azopentane-2,4-dion (LA), 3-(4-nitro phenyl azo)-pentane-2,4-dion (LP), 3-(2-nitro phenyl azo)-pentane-2,4-dion (LO) and 4-(1-acetyle-2-oxo-propyl azo)-benzene sulfonate sodium (LS), were synthesized from, aniline, 4-nitroaniline, 2-nitroaniline and sulfanilic acid with acetylacetone, respectively. Reaction of these new dyes with acetate salts of copper(II), nickel(I...

Removal of synthetic dyes is one of the main challenges before releasing the wastes discharged by textile industries. Biodegradation of azo dyes by alkaliphilic bacterial consortium is one of the environmental-friendly methods used for the removal of dyes from textile effluents. Hence, this study presents isolation of a bacterial consortium from soil samples of saline environment and its use fo...

The generation of azomethine ylides from the readily accessible hemiaminals 3 and 8 or from iminium salt 10 was studied. Compounds 8 gave anti- and syn-cycloadducts containing the quinocarcin core through a catalyst-free dehydration process.

[3+2] Cycloaddition of azomethine imines with electron-deficient terminal alkynes was smoothly catalyzed by a chiral bis(imidazolidine)pyridine-CuOAc complex to give bicyclic pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazolone derivatives with up to 74% ee.

Condensation of an aldehyde with an α-amino-ester, followed by a tandem process involving cyclization to a seven-membered ring, deprotonation to an intermediate azomethine ylide and intramolecular dipolar cycloaddition gave tricyclic products related to stenine and neostenine.

Generation and cycloaddition of less- or non-stabilized azomethine ylides, or nitrile ylide equivalents, via unprecedented 1,4-stannatropy of N-(tributylstannylmethyl)thioamides were achieved. The reactions with dipolarophiles, such as electron-deficient alkenes and alkynes, afforded corresponding pyrrolidine and pyrrole derivatives effectively.

The absolute fluorescence quantum yield (Φfl) of a polyfluorenyl azomethine homopolymer was measured as a function of solvent polarity. The solvent induced and temperature dependent fluorescence of the homopolymer were also investigated and they were compared to the corresponding monomer and copolymer. The Φfl of the homopolymer was consistent (45-70%), regardless of solvent polarity with Stoke...

The L-tert-leucine-derived AmidPhos/silver(I) catalytic system has been developed for the asymmetric [3+2] cycloaddition of azomethine ylides with electronic-deficient alkenes with or without Et3N. Under optimal conditions, highly functionalized endo-4-pyrrolidines were obtained with modest to high yields (up to 99% yield) and enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee).

Atomic layer deposition (ALD) has been considered as an efficient method to deposit high quality and uniform thin films of various electron transport materials for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, the effect sequence in ALD process aluminum-doped zinc oxide (AZO) on performance stability PSCs is investigated. Particularly, surface AZO film terminated by diethylzinc (DEZ)/H2O (AZO-1) or trim...

Azo dye derivatives of azobenzene constitute the largest group of dyes used in the textile industry and possess recalcitrant chemical groups, such as those of azo and sulphonic acid. Some microorganisms are able to degrade these aromatic compounds. In the present work, decolourisation of culture media containing azo dyes by the ligninolytic fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium was achieved under ...
