Analysis of the nonlinear Schrödinger vortex reconnection is given in terms of coordinate-time power series. The lowest order terms in these series correspond to a solution of the linear Schrödinger equation and provide several interesting properties of the reconnection process, in particular the nonsingular character of reconnections, the anti-parallel configuration of vortex filaments and a s...

We propose a hybrid magnonic-oscillator system based on the combination of spin transfer auto-oscillator and magnonic waveguide to open new perspectives for spin-wave circuits. The is composed oscillator vortex state which dipolarly coupled nanoscale with longitudinal magnetization. In its auto-oscillating regime, emits coherent waves tunable controllable frequencies, directions, amplitudes int...

We study vortex knotting in the Faddeev-Skyrme model. Starting with a straight vortex line twisted around its axis we follow its evolution under dissipative energy minimization dynamics. With low twist per unit length the vortex forms a helical coil, but with higher twist numbers the vortex becomes knotted or a ring is formed around the vortex. Steady, inviscid, axisymmetric vortex ows past a sphere are obtained numerically as solutions of a partial di erential equation for the stream function. The solutions found include vortex rings, bounded vortices attached to the sphere and in nite vortex tubes. Four families of attached vortices are described: vortex wakes behind the sphere, spherically annular vortices surrounding the spherical...

In incompressible Euler flows, vorticity is intensified by line stretching, a process that can come either from the action of shear, or from advection with curvature. Focusing on the latter process, we derive some estimates on the maximal growth of vorticity in axisymmetric flow without swirl, given that vorticity support volume or kinetic energy is fixed. This leads to consideration of locally...

Textures, textural transformation, and formation and annihilation of a single vortex were investigated in narrow cylinders with 100 microm radius in A-phase under rotation up to 6.28 rad/sec. Three textures were found, depending on the cooling conditions of the sample through the superfluid transition temperature T(c). We found the gyromagnetic effect of textures; that is, two textures (A or B)...

A review of analyses based upon anti-parallel vortex structures suggests that structurally stable dipoles with eroding circulation may offer a path to the study of vorticity growth in solutions of Euler’s equations in R3. We examine here the possible formation of such a structure in axisymmetric flow without swirl, leading to maximal growth of vorticity as t4/3. Our study suggests that the opti...

By performing estimates on the integral of the absolute value of vorticity along a local vortex line segment, we establish a relatively sharp dynamic growth estimate of maximum vorticity under some assumptions on the local geometric regularity of the vorticity vector. Our analysis applies to both the 3D incompressible Euler equations and the surface quasi-geostrophic model (SQG). As an applicat...

Vortex configurations in the two-dimensional torus are considered in noncommu-tative space. We analyze the BPS equations of the Abelian Higgs model. Numerical solutions are constructed for the self-dual and anti-self dual cases by extending an algorithm originally developed for ordinary commutative space. We work within the Fock space approach to noncommutative theories and the Moyal-Weyl conne...

In superconductors, the motion of vortices introduces unwanted dissipation that is disruptive to applications. Fortunately, material defects can immobilize vortices, acting as vortex pinning centers, which engenders dramatic improvements in superconductor properties and device operation. This has motivated decades research into developing methods tailoring disorder landscape superconductors inc...
