The ESP Culture System II was evaluated for its capacity to test the susceptibility of 389 cultures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to streptomycin, rifampin, ethambutol, and isoniazid. Good agreement with results with the BACTEC TB 460 was found. ESP II is a reliable, rapid, and automated method for performing susceptibility testing.

A panfungal PCR assay was used to evaluate the ability of the ESP blood culture system to detect fungemia. The results showed that the ESP system is reliable for the detection of fungi and showed the applicability of using a molecular-based assay as a potential rapid and reliable method for the identification of fungi.

It also provides additional results for finite lists (theory ListInf/List2), natural numbers (folder CommonArith, esp. division/modulo, naturals with infinity), sets (folder CommonSet, esp. cutting/truncating sets, traversing sets of naturals).
