در این مقاله 22 گونه از جنس Nepeta از کشمیر هیمالیا گزارش می‌شود. جدای از این، تعداد 12 گونه از منطقه کشمیر و تعداد 11 گونه از منطقه لاداخ گزارش داده شد. یک گونه به نام N. salviafolia در هر دو منطقه مشترک است. تمامی گونه‌ها چند‌ساله اند ولی گونه N. annua یکساله است. شرح تاکسونومیک همه گونه‌ها و سیستم جدید نامگذاری آنها در مقاله ارائه می‌گردد.
گونه جدید Nepeta makuensis از ایران نامگذاری و شرح داده می‌شود. این گونه از بخش Psilonepeta Benth. بوده و با داشتن کاسه گل لوله‌ای-استکانی که در ناحیه گلو متورم و پهن می‌باشد، مشخص می‌گردد. حلقه کرک در این گونه در قسمت میانی لوله کاسه گل قرار گرفته که این صفت متفاوت از سایر گونه‌ها است که در آنها حلقه کرک در قاعده دندانه‌ها واقع شده است.
