Abstract This work demonstrates the development of a highly sensitive and fast infrared photodetector using PbS thin film deposited simple scalable method known as “spray pyrolysis”. An aqueous precursor solution was on glass substrate at 150 °C have cubic phase PbS. Silver electrodes with 1 mm gap are drawn to create photo-detector devices. Low resistive contact between silver electrode is rev...

Applications of plasma-induced biological effects via reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) make the non-thermal atmospheric-pressure plasma jets an appealing tool in biomedical fields. The presence materials, especially as part electrode circuit, may change properties impact on production RONS at plasma–biomaterial interface. Effects biomaterials hydroxyl radicals (OH) a nanosecond pulse...

Abstract: Polarization splitter (PBS) consisting of a hybrid plasma horizontal slot waveguide (HSW) and silicon nitride vertical (VSW).At suitable HSW VSW widths, the TE polarization modes in are phase-matched, while TM phase mismatched. The results show that PBS achieves an extinction ratio (ER) 35.1 dB insertion loss (IL) 0.34 for mode at 1.55 μm, For mode, reached 40.9 ER 2.65 IL.

After many years of development, proton therapy is finally reaching the point of mass adoption in clinical practice. Advances in particle accelerator technology and improved dose delivery techniques have provided strong driving forces for expanded use. Pencil beam scanning (PBS) is the generic name for radiation dose delivery to a target volume using individually controlled small pencil beams o...

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of multiple infusions of allogeneic MSCs on glucose homeostasis and morphometry of pancreatic islets in high- fat diet (HFD) fed mice. Swiss mice were fed standard diet (C group) or HFD (HFD group). After 8 weeks, animals of HFD group received sterile phosphate-buffered saline infusions (HFD-PBS) or four infusions of MSCs one week apart (...

Cyclic voltammetry was used to measure PbS nanocrystal PbS-NC energy levels. Accuracy of these measurements was justified by electron transfer experiments, with well known fullerene derivatives, which included photoluminescence quenching experiments and current density-voltage measurements of hybrid photovoltaic devices. It is believed that these energy level measurements, carried out on PbS-NC...

The HIV-1 nucleocapsid protein (NC) functions as a nucleic acid chaperone during the plus-strand transfer step in reverse transcription by facilitating annealing of the primer binding site (PBS) sequence in the short plus-strand strong-stop DNA fragment [(+) SSDNA] to a complementary site located near the 3' end of the minus-strand DNA [(-) PBS DNA]. To investigate the mechanism by which NC per...

This study is aimed at identifying the potential benefits of using a patient-specific aperture in proton beam scanning. For this purpose, an accurate Monte Carlo model of the pencil beam scanning (PBS) proton therapy (PT) treatment head at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) was developed based on an existing model of the passive double-scattering (DS) system. The Monte Carlo code specifies th...

Peritoneal B1a cells expressing CD5 and CD11b generate autoantibody-producing precursors in autoimmune-prone mice. Previous studies show reduced JNK signaling in peritoneal B1a cells of female New Zealand Black mice and an abnormal increase of protein phosphatase 2A subunit G5PR that regulates BCR-mediated JNK signaling as a cause of autoimmunity. To investigate the mechanism regulating B1a dif...
