This article presents a research focused on the Virtual Battlespace 2 scenarios development for private security industry (PSI) purposes. In the first part, the VBS2 scenario creation options are described. In the second part, a description of the scenario representing the most common workload of employees of PSI can be found. In the last part, the process of developing this scenario in 2D and ...

This paper shows the potential of using a shape outline matching technique that is based on the Turning Function distance measure in the process of creating 2D graphics. The user of a sketch-designing application is able to utilize shape-matching technology to increase the ease and correctness of the multimedia product, which is the resulting sketch or image. The shape-matching method described...

The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean elite soccer players' myocardial function using the conventional and advanced speckle tracking imaging to compare the difference with the normal controls. We used 2D echocardiography speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) to evaluate LV regional strain in 29 elite soccer players compared to 29 age-matched healthy controls. Conventional, tissu...

‎‎‎in this paper‎, ‎we develop multi-step methods to solve a class of two-dimensional nonlinear volterra integral equations (2d-nvies) of the first kind‎. ‎here‎, ‎we convert a 2d-nvie of the first kind to a one-dimensional linear vie of the first kind and then we solve the resulted equation numerically by multi-step methods‎. ‎we also verify convergence and error analysis of the method‎. ‎at t...

Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a technique to image tissue morphology and to measure flow in turbid media. In its most basic form, it is based on single (Mie) scattering. However, for highly scattering and dense media multiple and concentration dependent scattering can occur. For Intralipid solutions with varying scattering strength, the effect of multiple and dependent scatterin...

This paper concerns stability analysis and controller design for repetitive control. First, a two-dimensional (2D) continuous-discrete hybrid model of a repetitive control system is established. Next, new criteria for the asymptotic stability of the system are presented based on the model. Then, these criteria are extended to calculate lower bounds on stability margins to design a suitable cont...

The paper describes a novel integrated vision system in which two autonomous visual modules are combined to interpret a dynamic scene. The first module employs a 3D model-based scheme to track rigid objects such as vehicles. The second module uses a 2D deformable model to track non-rigid objects such as people. The principal contribution is a novel method for handling occlusion between objects ...

The Doppler effect in Fabry-Perot cavities with suspended mirrors is analyzed. The Doppler shift, which is intrinsically small, accumulates in the cavity and becomes comparable with or greater than the linewidth of the cavity if the cavity's finesse is high or its length is large. As a result, damped oscillations of the cavity field occur when one of the mirrors passes a resonance position. A f...
