A connected graph G is said to be neighbourly irregular graph if no two adjacent vertices of G have same degree. In this paper we obtain neighbourly irregular derived graphs such as semitotal-point graph, k^{tℎ} semitotal-point graph, semitotal-line graph, paraline graph, quasi-total graph and quasivertex-total graph and also neighbourly irregular of some graph products.

the energy of a graph is equal to the sum of the absolute values of its eigenvalues. two graphs of the same order are said to be equienergetic if their energies are equal. we point out the following two open problems for equienergetic graphs. (1) although it is known that there are numerous pairs of equienergetic, non-cospectral trees, it is not known how to systematically construct any such pa...

The original and subsequent reports concerning the clinical effects of cortisone and ACTH (Hench and others, 1949; Thorn and others, 1949; Freyberg, 1950; Thorn and others, 1950a, b, and c; Sprague and others, 1950; Hench and others, 1950) clearly indicate that these hormones have profound effects in the human, producing great benefit on various rheumatic states so long as the hormone is admini...

A risk assessment of vegetation zone responses to climate change was conducted using the classical Holdridge life zone model on the Loess Plateau of Northwest China. The results show that there are currently ten vegetation zones occurring on the Loess Plateau (1950–2000), including alvar desert, alpine wet tundra, alpine rain tundra, boreal moist forest, boreal wet forest, cool temperate desert...

The evolution of thorn-like structures in plants on oceanic islands that lack mammalian and reptilian herbivores is puzzling, as is their tendency toward juvenile-adult leaf dimorphism. We propose that these traits arose in Cyanea (Campanulaceae) on Hawaii as mechanical and visual defenses against herbivory by flightless geese and goose-like ducks that were extirpated by Polynesians within the ...

Understanding the relative importance of environment and life history strategies in determining leaf chemical traits remains a key objective of plant ecology. We assessed 20 foliar chemical properties among 12 African savanna woody plant species and their relation to environmental variables (hillslope position, precipitation, geology) and two functional traits (thorn type and seed dispersal mec...

OBJECTIVE Jaundice is the most common reason of newborn's admission to neonatal ward. Many Iranian families give traditional remedies like sugar water, camel's thorn and flixweed extracts to breast-fed babies for reducing jaundice. This study investigated the effect of traditional remedies on idiopathic neonatal jaundice. METHODS This prospective study has been performed on 336 babies with id...
