Let (G,G′) ⊂ Sp(W) be an irreducible real reductive dual pair of type I in stable range, with G the smaller member. In this note, we prove that all irreducible genuine representations of G̃ occur in the Howe correspondence. The proof uses structural information about the groups forming a reductive dual pair and estimates of matrix coefficients.

The marine environment is a major source for many novel natural compounds. A new yellow pigment has been isolated from the marine bacterium P. tunicata and identified as a new member of the tambjamine class of compounds. The structural identification was achieved by a combination of 1D and 2D-NMR spectroscopy and high resolution mass spectrometry data.

We report herein the isolation and complete characterization of a member of the chlorophyll c family, designated as [8-ethyl]-chlorophyll c(3) ([8-ethyl]-chl c(3)). Structural elucidation of this pigment rested on the analysis of mono- and bidimensional NMR, UV-VIS spectroscopy and ESI-MS data, and the configuration at the 13(2) position on chiral HPLC analysis.

We show that every splitting of 0e in the local structure of the enumeration degrees, Ge, contains at least one low-cuppable member. We apply this new structural property to show that the classes of all K-pairs in Ge, all downwards properly Σ2 enumeration degrees and all upwards properly Σ2 enumeration degrees are first order definable in Ge.
